they have made alot of work since i was there on dec 13. its starting to look like the will be a wrap around, but where will the headstones/graveyard go? it looks like it will all be walled in, unless on the back hill where there are steps currently.

Maybe they'll put them back up on the hill and they just moved them for their own safety while the construction was going on....maybe......please.

The reference here was to the possible return of the original headstones. Whatever "interactive" things that are added should be subtle, not a bunch of video screens.

I'd expect things like the Leota headstone that moves, or perhaps some LEDs similar to The Tower of Terror sign.

Hopefully. I find that even if you make too much actually interactive it ruins the subtle effect of others. That is why Leota worked so well. You got used t the other tombstones just being headstones with some witty lines. Then you see Leota as the last one before entering and something is not right..and then first timers were often not sure if what they just saw happened.

The reason some are worried is at the 45 second mark. Likely just a test for a screen and nothing telling but who knows.

I actually think that seems pretty cool (and very similar to the new hunny screens in the pooh queue where you move the hunny out of the way to reveal an underlying image). The issue will be whether they can integrate something like that into the queue and have it make sense. They did a great job on the Pooh queue, however, so I have faith.

I'd rather have something that a guest "trips", an effect like something moving or a sound effect. The screen looks cool, but it seems a little too touchy-feely for a ride that's supposed to be scary. If it's scary, then you shouldn't feel comfortable enough to reach out and touch it. I'd rather have something that just adds to the spookiness and suspense about what lies ahead than a few "Oh, that's cool" interactive-interactive things like those screens.

And did I detect a portrait hall-esque flashing effect on the Master Gracey portrait? Because I am quite sure that OH NO THEY DI-UHNT!

Maybe I did not look at it close enough but it looked more like the one in the Foyer just with touch activation instead of a slow and suddle changing effect.

Which is a shame. What you said I also agree with. Guest triggered and small things to happen is the best route if any.

It should often be the kind of spooky surreal of wanting to ask if it really happened, or was it just your imagination?(yep, I fit in that line)

Kinda dumb, since it's just repeating the Master Gracey portrait in the Foyer, essentially showing guests the same thing they see inside. Does that mean they're going to remove the portrait from inside the Mansion, or are they going to have both versions?

I've never been happy with the Leota gravestone. Great idea, but the face and style is all wrong. She looks like the Statue of Liberty rather than Leota. It didn't fit in with the others stylistically. What they should have done with hers was give her Leota's face, and then add a few other headstones with similar styling that were static, and it wouldn't have stuck out like a sore thumb.

I agree with you mostly but I could see from a design point where it is a careful balance. You don't want people to see it coming (a lot didn't we'd be giving people's observation skills way too much credit) and at the same time you don't want to design something that gets people so use to it they presume it is exactly like the others and hardly anyone notices it in comparison.

I agree with the first part of your post 100 percent. If it is going to be a repeat especially bad. Either way, all the touchy screen things is just tacky for something classy like the HM.

What if the screens/panels/whatever were designed to be the doors to crypts or graves or something, and when touched became semi-transparent, showing the ghost/zombie "inside" the crypt?

This may actual result in my going on the Riverboat for the first time in years. Is there a time frame for this to be complete?
