Walls in HM Queue

I was talking about the names of the new characters for the queue. I really don't know why they need some kind of characters for this, especially new ones. I'd have thought that they'd use Constance and her husbands, or some pre-existing nameless characters, but that's just me. I would still rather see them redo the queue with elements that will make it spookier and that will complement the outside. I'd like to see the crow somewhere outside (like the one that pops up on Leota's chair or above the crypt or in the greenhouse), a water fountain, or just little bits and pieces that subtly move or change, like Leota's tombstone. But that's just me being a protective HM fangirl.

I can understand your concern as a true HM fan myself. However, I see this as a true plussing of the attraction. As far as making it scarier...meh...if I wanted truly scary I wouldn't be at a Disney park.

I refuse to pass judgment until I see the finished product.

Instead of these interactive waiting in line games, how about create more quality rides to spread the Guests out and have shorter lines overall.

You missed the point:

I've got it. The test characters for HM Nex Gen....

How did mystical magic "get it" from those names? It wasn't as if those were the same set of names from the queue test.

Queue test characters names were :

  • Jacob Dread
  • Aunt Florence McGriffin Dread
  • Wellington Dread
  • Forsitha Dread
  • Governess Maude Sweeny
  • Bertie Dread
  • Ruben Dread
  • Whitfield Tarkington Dread

Character names listed by Raven were:
  • Bertie
  • Aunt Florence
  • Uncle Jacob
  • The Twins
  • Cousin Maude

Notice the similarities?

Well of course I see it now, but at the time of the original posting, I can only find one matching name in the photos on the site mystical magic quoted: Jacob.

I hadn't bothered to read the text there again, as I already read it months earlier, I only looked at the names I could make out in the photos. So I was just curious how anyone could remember just from those few names that Raven listed. I sure as heck didn't remember them, and thought they were a whole new set of names. Mystical must have a photographic memory!

Oh yes - the "Dread" family is pretty cheesy-sounding. Why not use the "Gracey" surname? At least that surname is (was?) actually used on one of the original gravestones.

You are very welcome. Just for that I have a gift for you:

Bertie, Aunt Florence, Uncle Jacob, The Twins and Cousin Maude will be visiting soon. :animwink:

Here lies Good 'ol Bertie
Messin' with the mob is always Dirty

Aunt Florence was no Nightengale
The only thing she could nurse was ale

Laid to rest our Uncle Jacob
Brought a toaster in the bathtub

The Twins lay here beneath the Earth
Had a good run for what it's worth

At peaceful rest lies Cousin Maude
Some grave robbers switched her with Claude

There were no toasters during the period that ghosts and style HM seem to be geared......Ack :zipit: I'm sorry, I'm trying not to pass judgement but as info comes out I start to feel increasingly meh about this project. I'm very protective of my HM....

We all are, but I feel there's a difference between a quickly slapped together script for one day of testing and proof of concept-ing and a final script after months of planning and construction.

Aren't they in the middle of that process right now?

But not quick enough. Wait times are normally an hour plus for Pan and Pooh for a large chunk of day. Last major addition was Splash Mtn in 94. Laugh Floor and Stitch replaced shows. They have had long lines for at least a decade since Splash, and are now JUST building another omnimover and expanding the park.

Better late then never, I can't wait. My opinion is that quality rides should be churned out faster. When one is finished a new one should be announced.

Still excited for the future, we'll see what we can get.

You're kidding, right? They added an entire new theme park in 1998. ToT also opened in 1994 and since then TSMM, Soarin' and RnRC were added. Ride construction within the complex gives more entertainment options and should thin crowds at the individual parks - it's not just about MK.

even Leota's headstone?

I highly doubt it. The headstones near the entrance are iconic; I would imagine an uprising if they were removed. At the absolute *worst* they would be moved somewhere else which of course would ruin the magic (are we to believe they also dug up the graves and moved the contents as well?)

Do you really believe there are remains buried at a Theme Park? I've heard of suspension of disbelief, but that's going a little too far.
