Walls in HM Queue

In regards to those who complain about the Space Mountain Que, It's supposed to stop the line on busier days and prevent you from moving all the way forward. It works almost like a pre-show with no doors in a sense. People move in to play the game and as they play the line is moving in front of them so by the time they have finished (and the games display "please proceed to final boarding") The line to board their rocket has shortened. Now, I do understand the argument that it's annoying as hell when they're isn't a line and i'll admit I'm guilty of sliding past those enjoying the game.

As for this Mansion Que change affecting the pacing of the que it could always be for the better. I've seen the que for mansion everywhere from a walk-on to close to two hours and though the line does (for the most part) move at a steady clip having more to entertain guests; especially younger children in that que can only be for the better. You run out of things to look at quite quickly, lets be honest after the 10th time watching Big Thunder make it's run its not too exciting anymore.

I'm all for the purity of Disney and Attraction Nostalgia but Walt said many a time that the parks would always be changing and he wanted them constantly "plussed" I'm sure the tombstones wont be removed completely if anything they will be moved or repurposed.

Sidenote...Someone a while back mentioned tombstones that appeared to be carving names on them. How crazy would it be if when names were overheard they were "carved" onto a tombstone. This could eventually be just a sliver of the possibilities of what a RFID run personalized experience could entail. How rad could that be? Little Johnny walks by a blank tombstone and his RFID bracelet is read and the tombstone "inscribes" his name and the days date as his death date!

Exposure to the graves is only a very small part of the line....and it has been down for two months.

One would think this is the slowest operation with little payoff ever....

Now THAT would be awesome!

So, how long is this refurb supposed to happen? Sounds like it's a good upgrade, we'll see.

I've heard from here that the refurb will probably last around six months and most of that time will be spent on electrical an plumbing. Let's just hope we don't completely lose our original headstones like DL...

It's been said that they won't be leaving. I don't know why people keep spreading this around. Trustworthy people on this board said they may not be in the exact same spot but they will be there.

With Holiday crowds starting to build i'm a little surprised they hadn't started this refurb sooner. They timed the pooh que opening very well in my opinion and with the re-opening of Mad Tea Party just a week or so before thanksgiving crowds to help even crowd flow out.

Im super excited abet nervous to see what this refurb will bring in the coming months and will attempt some over the wall//across the lake shots next time im at the kingdom. I'm thinking a trip on the riverboat may be in order.

The moved the headstones to a nearby hill to expand the queue as an overflow queue during peak season and to allow for easier wheelchair access. A few years later the headstones were gone altogether.

Wow, I'm surprised I never heard about that. I always thought it was weird that DL's HM only had a grave yard for its pets and nothing else.

So this 6 months date is accurate?

That's kinda a downer, since the reason we're going to WDW is because I've been mansion obsessing for a year straight.

The ride will still be open though, yeah?

Last I knew they had boarded up the view from the physical queue and there is a large green tarp/scrim on the water side.
