Walls in HM Queue

I hope all the next gen queue systems Disney adds doesnt make people stop to interact with them. Which I occasionally see happening to people in Space Mountain waiting in the normal line

Could someone sneak us a photo update? This is killing me XD

We'll be in the MK Saturday AM to grab a final lunch before DME picks us up at 2-ish. If I can convince my travel party to go on the Riverboat, I'll take as many pics as I can.

Until then, perhaps someone can see from TSI..I have no intention of rafting over there.

Nothing to see from there except for more scrim blinder material.

If you want to actually see anything going on down there one needs to ride the Riverboat and go upstairs to the upper level.

Well, we're eating at Columbia Harbour House at about 11:30am on Saturday, so I'll do my best to hop on the Riverboat before or afterwards and grab a spot on the upper deck, left hand side.

I won't have access to a computer again until we get home Saturday night, so if someone beats me to it, more power to them. Otherwise, I'll post whatever I can get.

Soooo....anything?

Nope. I failed.

Saturday's plans were going well, until we tried to do our Resort Airline Check-In, only to find out that AirTran's "servers were down". So, we stowed everything with Bell and headed to the MK. Went to Columbia Harbor House for lunch, and were surprised with a "Magical Moment" consisting of a VIP "table service style" seating. Lunch took about an hour.

Then, I called Bell Services and found out Airtran came back online, but the airline desk only works until 1:00pm, so we hustled back to Wilderness Lodge, checked our bags, got our boarding passes, and the hustled back to the MK.

We had to leave MK by 2:00 to catch our 2:30 DME bus, so sailing on the Riverboat in the tiny window of opportunity proved to be a failure.

It was extra upsetting since it would have been a nice relaxing end to the trip, plus given me a chance to photograph and see the construction first-hand. Oh well. I'm sure one of the local bloggers will get over there soon.

We DID replace the Riverboat with a grand circle tour on the train, which let me sneak a peek through the trees at the back side of FLE. So, I guess it was a trade-off for me :p

My family was in the same exact situation lay trip. We went to MK to ride a ride or two and grab lunch before boarding DME. We were selected as the "family of the day" at Cosmic Ray's. Heh, funny.

Anywhoo, has Samuel taken pictures of the work lately?

If so, nobody has linked to it on here. I can't keep up with all the Disney fan sites, so I rely on people posting links in threads like this

Thanks for posting pics. I will be there in just a few days as long as my plane can get there from California. I am wishing for good weather.

This is the first we've seen those concrete stairs at the back, just barely visible through the new awning structure. Emergency exit of some sort, I presume?

And if this new awning loop doesn't intersect with the square brick section of the old queue (where the turnstiles used to be), I'm wondering about why they knocked the old shoulder-height window opening into a doorway the way that they did. Perhaps this will have a permanent gate over it, and will be the supposed (and probably maintenance) entry into this new graveyard area the new awning encircles.
