Walls down at the Castle Walls

The balcony has been closed for the last year, so no access up there.
I didn't know that! We ate up their last August/September but never knew that it had closed!
Here's hoping (assuming) that it reopens after the bulk of the Expansion construction is done.
It's under renovation now (Replacing the wood and other general maintenance/painting)
I always assumed it closed to prevent folks from going up there and getting "too good" of a view of the construction so I'm on the same page that it at least makes sense that it will re-open after the FLE is done. I'd say if it's under renovation, that's probably the plan!

Certainly had to be a factor given they've had the inside open upstairs but not the outside this whole time. They also pinned down fabric covering all the interior second floor windows AND even put a "cast members only" sign on the door leading outside.

They've since put up scrims around the exterior second floor balcony so at least now there's an official excuse why it's closed. :p

I am also basing the statement on Carsland, BVS, what we are seeing for China etc. This is of that quality.

Sorry what is BVS?

All I can say is that the walls looks so beautiful. This is going to be an amazing expansion once it's all complete

I think the new walls are great. My concern is how long will they continue to look that way? Something tells me these will need to be repainted quite frequently with the weather wear & tear as well as guest wear & tear. All in all though they look brilliant!

Love the look of them at night! We just missed seeing the Castle Walls for ourselves. We did however get to walk between them when they redirected foot traffic that way for a day or so (but there was walls up on both sides).

I'm actually wondering, but what's the likelihood of the castle being repainted once the expansion has finished? I mentioned it on the previous page, but I really do like the paintwork of the Tokyo castle.

It certainly looks a lot more fresh and professional to me.

I also prefer the paint job in Tokyo, but it was my impression that they painted it to differ the look from WDW. Would look nice though.

I like that each castle has a different color scheme. It gives them unique looks, even though they have identical designs.

Also, if Disney had plans to change the color scheme of the castle soon, they wouldn't have painted the castle walls to match the current scheme.

The current paint is only a few years old if I recall...
