VIDEO of "Enchanted Stitch Room"

If it gets rid of Under New Managment and SGE, I'm in!!

I haven't even seen the video and I agree. If anyone remembers, I believe that I said Stitch would have been a better fit in the Tiki Room than to try to retrofit the characters into AE's infrastructure back in 2002/2003. Sure that was a bit of a biased opinion, but man I love when I'm right :animwink:

As long as this doesn't replace the original show at Disneyland, there's no problems. Comparing that to Under New Management will almost certainly be an improvement and Stitch will have an attraction that people/kids can actually enjoy. Just don't mess with the original show at Disneyland. It doesn't need anything to be changed.

I would like it better if it wasn't directly called "The Enchanted Stitch Room"... Maybe they could keep it "Under New Management" but have stitch on the sign? Or something that says Now Starring or Including Stitch. It would be very disappointing to see them get rid of "Tiki" in the name "Enchanted Tiki Room".

Sounds good to me! :sohappy: Adam, is "Enchanted Stitch Room," a working name for the US attraction as it stands right now?

I like the new name for Tokyo, The Enchanted Tiki Room: Stitch Presents "Aloha E Komo Mai," although it's a bit long.

Yeah, that would be : TETR:SPAEKM in abbreviation. Much too long!

As much as I know this is an unpopular stance, I like the Tiki Room the way it is now. I think Stitch seems too much of a character tie-in. Iago and Zazu are both birds, and therefore belong in the Tiki room, although that is character synergy as well. And I think re-using the "Under New Management" thing is kinda poor, i'd rather just have it be original in the first place, not be "Under New Management...again". I also kinda like the fact that the Tiki Room right now isn't as..beign as it is in other places. I think the original was kinda boring, and the Tokyo one looks like kind of a yawner. Plus i'm parcial to the Tiki Goddess :). I also like SGE, although i'm almost sure I would prefer Alien Encounter. I wish that Adventureland and Tomorrowland wouldn't rely on known characters as much, but create new ones and new stories, and come up with more unique properties. But if this switch will do some of that, I guess I'm all for it.

Well, the story is that the Stitch AA is very close in design to the WDW version, with the added ability to "shake his booty"... So a closure of SGE and a move of the AA could be less painful than a ground up build, obviously. Take two mediocre attractions and make one really good one, that's my opinion.

There's also a section in the show where he "spits" apparently, although it's thought that the water comes from the ceiling, not the AA. So the Tokyo show still includes the "bad boy" stitch in some form and fashion. It's not all booty shaking and ukelele playing.

The show is also short... 8 to 9 minutes. I don't know for sure if that's good or bad... Depends on what it cuts out.

And from what I understand, most of the original show music is still in the show in one form or another. They didn't butcher it like that. They learned their lesson with WDW, I bet.

Overall... Hard to get an overall opinion of the whole show from a short clip like this, in Japanese... :lookaroun But who in their right mind wouldn't welcome something like this over the "Under New Management" version we've got. :hurl:

If bringing this verison to Adventureland would mean the end of Stitch in Tomorrowland, I would welcome this new show with open arms. Stitch fits much better into the Tiki Room than he ever will in Tomorrowland; hopefully we see something like this at WDW.

I'll never get Disney fanboys. They don't want Stitch to take up an older attration in Tomrrowland with an alien and sci-fi theme, but they're perfectly okay with another Stitch attraction taking up an older attraction in Adventureland with a Polynessian theme.

I like it but not the name of "Enchanted Stich Room"......."Stich's Enchanted Tiki Room" sounds better to me. Im not a big fan of the Tiki Room now, but every trip I still sit and watch it.

That's because it fits. Stitch the movie is not set in the future. But it is set in the tropics. And Stitch loves music. Neither Iago or Zazu have anything to do with the tropics. It's a no-brainer.

Regarding SGE, my vote is to replace it with Meet the Robinsons. Another no-brainer. (I know I've said in the past that I want MTR to replace HISTA, but in reality I know it probably won't happen. Obviously I wouldn't want both.)

On the basis of this very short clip, the Stitch addition looks really exruciating, although not quite as bad as UNM. Still if they have to stick a Disney character in the show to make it more relevant to the average philistine, then it's time for the attraction to be completely overhauled.

As much as I hate seeing Stitch every where, this does look interesting. And if it meant getting rid of UNM and SGE, then I'd be all for it.

Meet the Robinsons is no where near popular enough to have its own attraction, so I don't see it happening.

Neither Iago or Zazu have anything to do with the tropics.

Actually, they ARE tropical birds, just like Jose, Michael, Pierre, Fritz and all the others.

As much as I know this is an unpopular stance, I like the Tiki Room the way it is now.

Me too, And, technically, you are in a popular stance, since the majority of WDW's guests (including the non-fanatics) actually like UNM. And, no, the guests aren't stupid--they have their preferences just like everyone else.

Iago and Zazu are both birds, and therefore belong in the Tiki room.

That's right. And don't start on how they don't belong because they're Arabian and African, respectively. They're not the only characters in the Room that come from different countries and have different foreign accents (Jose is from Mexico, Michael is from Ireland, Pierre is from France and Fritz is from Germany).

And a forever-subjective one at that. Besides, most guests like UNM and SGE anyway, including yours truly.

They learned their lesson with WDW, I bet.

Don't be so condescending. UNM may be a mistake in YOUR point of view, but it really wasn't.

But who in their right mind wouldn't welcome something like this over the "Under New Management" version we've got.

Again, that kind of condescending attitude will get you nowhere.

I wonder how low it would take for all the UNM haters to start hating this version??

My thoughts exactly!

EDIT: Also, the newest Tokyo Tiki show still ditches Jose, Michael, Pierre & Fritz, which isn't a good thing. They'd better retain them if "Stitch presents Aloha e Komo Mai" does indeed come to WDW. However, I still prefer that WDW keep UNM, though.

It's a shame, because it's the only thing WDFA has put out in over a decade that isn't garbage.

I Liked UNM, but if they want to add Stitch that's fine by me. I thought SGE was awfull and so did my wife.:(

I thought MTR was a very good movie.

Well, the unifying theme of the original wasn't birds, it was tiki-ness or polynesian-ess. The Tiki room has always featured performers who weren't birds: flowers, tikis, etc. Stitch is Polynesian, albiet an adopted polynesian, not a native born! Iago is Arabian, and Zazu comes from the grasslands of Africa. Believe me, I would prefer no character tie-in, but I can see Stitch fitting in better than Iago and Zazu.

I kinda liked the video, I mean it doesnt sound near as annoying as the show now and the music sounds much more uniform even though it was a short clip. Stitch looked kinda fun there and cool popping up in the middle while retaining the whole tiki room theme and ambience. I agree with the other poster who said it should be called Stitch's Enchanted Tiki Room, sounds so much better, dont take away tiki room from the title please Disney.

Anyway are they truly considering doing the stitch version here? Or is this just a thinking about it stage. Hopefully they know something needs to be done with the show as it is now.

Really? And you have what to back that opinion up? I have general knowledge of attance levels to back MINE up, and I believe that's all you really need. I could also get into the whole "loss of timelessness" the currect version obliterates... But I digress.

Condescending? Ha. Me thinks your a little defensive about a light discussion topic. Wait. Was that condescending? :lookaroun
