Perhaps after reading some replies the OP had somewhat of a change of heart.
And even more off topic. I will be spending a week at a golf resort with my husband's family. I do not play golf (I've tried it and didn't like it) His sibs and spouses are avid golfers, so this is heaven to them, as they can play a different course every day.
Some might say that I'm wasting my time, but enjoying their company in the evening is worth it. I'll find other things to do, if only lounging by the pool, or walking around the resort, while they enjoy themselves golfing.
So, perhaps this guy felt it was the perfect vacation. He got to do something he enjoyed, his family had fun in the parks, and everyone was happy.

Property wide? Space must be a bigger draw than I thought. :shrug: I doubt that the line for checkout at Virgin Megastore, Earl of Sandwich, Backlot Tour, Sounds Dangerous (when it's open), will suffer because Space Mountain and TTA are not operational. Read the entire post...

To the OP:
I noticed that you edited your original post to add Universe of Energy to your list. Where are you seeing that Energy will be closed for your trip in June?
Energy is closed right now, but is only scheduled to be closed another two weeks (through March 22nd).
The only attractions in all of WDW listed as being closed in June are Space Mountain, HoP and the TTA. Plus Sounds Dangerous is listed as being in Seasonal operation (no big loss there).

We were disappointed to see these closings as well. We don't have much flexibility in our vacation schedules. This year my husband had the choice of one week in June. My vocation doesn't allow me to take time off during the school year. Also, our girls are too old to take out of school for any length of time. I personally love HoP and TTA has been a must do for us forever! Space Mountain is a given for us as well. I do think we will have to get into MK early, hit the big attractions and use FP's wisely. I am planning on longer lines for things like BTMR, Splash, etc., . I can understand the original posters disappointment. I also anticipate hearing lots of grumblings from people who just show up...and trust me there are quite a few who do that.
That's quite possible. But then you would think that she would have just written another post to that effect, and maybe thanked a few people for helping her to look at it differently. Instead, she tried to make it look like she wasn't being as negative as she originally had been...probably because everyone was calling her on it. I just thought it was humorous.
You said the "consensus" on this thread was that there is more to do in WDW than just rides. Most of the quotes you just posted were not saying that. They were saying there are other RIDES to do. That's not the same as saying there's more to WDW than rides.

yes, im disappointed that space mountain will be down this whole year as its my favorite .. and i laugh so much when im on it! but .. there are a ton of other rides and things to do .. it sucks, but in the long run, it will be worth it!

You go ahead and feel that way, however I do not... nor did I feel like getting into a debate over the word consensus when I posted my original comments, it was a simple obeservation.

When we went for Feb. School vacation there were a few rides that were down. All we did was take more time to notice the details. EVERY other time I've been down to the World it's been with friends or extended family, so we're always rushing to try and get everything in. This past time it felt great just to slow down and take notice of things we hadn't seen before.
We also have it down to a science. Gone are the day where we are at park opening and there until park closing. We usually get to around 1:30 or 2:00 and we head back to our hotel, and then return after a couple hours rest.
This last trip we stayed at WL and my father wanted to go over to OKW and take the boat to DTD to see the new Treehouse Villas. It was the same night as the Oscars, and I didn't want to miss them. My father couldn't understand but I told him I wanted to relax.
Take the time to just slowly meander through the park and enjoy the weather and details. You'll still have fun.

Why is it that just about every thread I peek in, someone is being
condescending, pushy or playing the can you top this game. Very tiresome, very boring!!!! People are entitled to their own opinions. It's fun to share and debate but why, why do folks resort to being down right rude and nasty!! Very disappointing.

When one door closes another opens. Summer before last the HM (my favorite ride) closed for refurb. I was sooo ticked off but still went. I found a new activity: Sitting in the upper level of Columbia Harbor House (where I had never been before (its nice and quiet for a refreshing break)..and I LOVE fish and chips) and watching others run up to HM and be dissapointed by the gate and sign. Yay disappointment.:sohappy:
