Uponastar's Family Celebration Vacation Oct. 17-25

Here goes...
The six of us left from Philly International on Friday night October 17th.
All of us are celebrating special occasions this month:
George and I...our 35th anniversary Oct. 27th
Our daughter Lauren and her husband Ken...their first anniversary Oct. 6th
Our daughter Stacey...her 27th birthday Oct. 31st (Halloween)
Stacey's longtime boyfriend Ray...his 26th birthday Oct. 18th
Needless to say, we were very much looking forward to a week-long celebration.

Here we are at the airport

That's Ken, Lauren and me in the back
George, Stacey and Ray on the floor.

George and I, since we go to WDW fairly often, always stay cheaply outside the park. This time we rented a townhouse in a Kissimmee development. It suited our needs perfectly!

On our first day, which was Ray's birthday, we started the day with Ray and George having their morning coffee in the hot tub

Then out to Downtown Disney

A very crowded evening in the World Showcase to come later.
Before I go for now, I'd just like to say that being at WDW when the home team is playing in the World Series is an AMAZING experience. Most of us wore Phillies gear every day and the interaction between fellow Phillies fans and opposing team fans in the parks was much fun!
Stacey and Ray...the most serious Phillies fans of all of us...went to ESPN on the opening night of the Series to watch the game. They had a blast!
A wonderful experience they'll never forget.

That's it for now.
More to come!

I just love the airport photo. What a fun, laid back family! Looks like we're in store for a great trip report, can't wait to ready more.

And happy celebrations to all :sohappy:.

I just got back this morning! I saw so many "phillies" fans at POP, a ton of them around the Petals bar each game night. Our weather was perfect, one day of real rain but oh well....didn't stop us one bit. I had a fun trip! I am glad you all did too!

Thanks for the comments. :)

Stacey doesn't look much like either of us, I know.
She may have been switched at birth, but we kept her because she's so cute. :lookaroun

On to Epcot.
The World Showcase was packed on Saturday night.
Still, we had fun...

First stop, Mexico

I spent a morning alone in the MK and never got any further than the end of Main Street! Seriously...I could live there

Halloween was everywhere!

George and I had a special treat.
We met a great CM named Jeffrey at the Liberty Belle.
George struck up a conversation with him that started with asking where the
coldest water fountain in the MK is located.
I know! I know! :p
Anyway...
Jeffrey asked if we were going to ride the boat and when we said we were, he invited us to join him in the wheelhouse for the ride! He told us to meet him at the Captain's Quarters at the top of the third staircase.

At the end of the ride he gave us certificates to mark the occasion.
We didn't even know riding in the wheelhouse was possible, so this was a really special treat for both of us, especially George.
Thank you, Jeffrey, for the extra magic.

See now I think in the picture from DTD with her holding the soda...her smile is totally Dot. I've seen that same smile on Dot before :)
Agreed. I definitely saw Dot's smile in that pic.

Thanks for the comments. :)

How fun!
I think I want to join your family!
I was just thinking the same thing. Let's do it! :D

What a fun TR, Dot.
Looking forward to more!
