Uponastar's Family Celebration Vacation Oct. 17-25

Here goes...
The six of us left from Philly International on Friday night October 17th.
All of us are celebrating special occasions this month:
George and I...our 35th anniversary Oct. 27th
Our daughter Lauren and her husband Ken...their first anniversary Oct. 6th
Our daughter Stacey...her 27th birthday Oct. 31st (Halloween)
Stacey's longtime boyfriend Ray...his 26th birthday Oct. 18th
Needless to say, we were very much looking forward to a week-long celebration.

Here we are at the airport

That's Ken, Lauren and me in the back
George, Stacey and Ray on the floor.

George and I, since we go to WDW fairly often, always stay cheaply outside the park. This time we rented a townhouse in a Kissimmee development. It suited our needs perfectly!

On our first day, which was Ray's birthday, we started the day with Ray and George having their morning coffee in the hot tub

Then out to Downtown Disney

A very crowded evening in the World Showcase to come later.
Before I go for now, I'd just like to say that being at WDW when the home team is playing in the World Series is an AMAZING experience. Most of us wore Phillies gear every day and the interaction between fellow Phillies fans and opposing team fans in the parks was much fun!
Stacey and Ray...the most serious Phillies fans of all of us...went to ESPN on the opening night of the Series to watch the game. They had a blast!
A wonderful experience they'll never forget.

That's it for now.
More to come!

Behold... my dream job!

Actually, it's a typo... it was originally named Astley Mansion, but that ride version gave us up and let us down.

Anywho, finally glad to have had the time to read through. A wonderful spot-on job. :sohappy:

Hi praise indeed, from the king of trip reports.
Thank you, Danny.

Hello to you!
Yes, last week was an amazing one for this city!
And being in WDW the week before was an experience I'll never forget.
This city was well represented and it was great to be a part of the Phillies excitement in such a unique way.

Amazing it was! I was very luck enough to be at game 5 when they won... It was an experience that I will never forget. And the parade! WoW!! 2 million people in the city what a day that was!

Wasn't it fun to be down at Disney and see all of the PHILLIES gear that people were wearing. It made the playoffs that much more fun for a NJ bred family! We stayed at BoardWalk and overlapped dates a little with you, and it was fun watching some games at ESPN and at other TVs around the World as we ate and went on rides.

Nice report, thanks.

And yes...the whole Phillies thing was an unexpected added pleasure to our trip. Most of our gang wore Phillies gear everyday (I had my cap) and it was such fun to get reactions from other Phillies fans as well as Rays fans. The day after they won the World Series opener...you would have thought we were personally responsible. We wore our red and white proudly! We were home for the last two games. What fun it would have been to be at WDW the day after they won the whole series! Of course, it was big fun being home for that, too. :D

Yeah it was great. It was neat, too, b/c we started watching the final game at Disney World in our BoardWalk room after the parks had closed, but then got to finish the game after several rain delays back home. What a neat experience that was!
