Yes.Do you really think that Universal Studios Florida has any aesthetic properties at all?

I hope this is not true, because I really enjoy BatB
Some of us consider Quality and attention to detail to be what makes something Disney. you can't simply slap Disney-owned IP like Mouse ears, Princesses etc. on something and say it's Disney and Disney used to know that and Universal gets that with WWoHP.
Can I pre-order it on Amazon? Or, can I just get a FP+ reservation to pick up an autographed copy at its debut under the BAH?
To quote Dr. Janosz Poha from Ghostbusters 2, "Why are you came?"I would not believe too much of what you read on these boards.

You're inferring I want the hat. You're wrong. Just making an observation about what Disney is doing and my impression of the likely result. You could very well be right. You could very well be wrong. You'll see. Doesn't matter to me either way. My interest is in enjoying the parks later this fall.
Those last few months before the wand was removed were brutal. Constant back and forth between those in the know and Fanbois who constantly insisted the wand was going nowhere. Today the wand is gone and fading from memory Spaceship Earth looks splendid (Wish I could say the same about the inside) and you would never know it was there unless you were there when it was up. In a few years time the hat will just be a bad memory occasionally joked about and the timeless view up Hollywood Boulevard will be restored and future visitors will never realize there was ever a giant hat there.
This is the best website out of all the WDW sites by far. There are many credible members here. Granted there is a lot of trolling going on to but that's easy to avoid.I would not believe too much of what you read on these boards.

I didn't infer anything about your desire to have the hat or not - you said "I'm guessing that the hat isn't going anywhere anytime soon".
And I simply pointed out that your argument is not supported by fact:
FACT: Various known insiders have been stating for quite some time it was on it's way out - people that have proven to be accurate many times in the past.
FACT: Disney has very recently eliminated the hat from their newest in-room video feed showing off the parks, which generally only happens when something is going to be removed shortly.
We've been through this before with the Big Ugly Wand. I see you are new here, which is great - but just keep in mind that some of us have been here a very long time and aren't just posting random thoughts but informed opinions - but like I said, you'll see.
The wand was fine structurally. It was Siemens who didn't like it. Despite the constant rumours I only found it was dated to come down two weeks before the walls went up. No reason that hats removal will be known any time sooner. The hats time is finite. It just needs a department to pay for it.The difference is Spirit had already confirmed the want was being removed 6 months earlier so should have been no back and forth other than a couple of idiots. However, with the hat good luck finding any insider who will tell you the hat is being removed because it does not seem at all likely. The Wand also (I believe) had some structural integrity concerns since it was only meant to be temporary and was also an added expense to maintain so there was good justification to remove it. I can't remember but didn't Siemens end up paying for the demolition as well?

Isn't that true everywhere, private and public? With constant cuts coming from on high everywhere, departments within Disney, government, really everywhere are becoming much nastier toward spending "their" limited money. I certainly see that where I work. No money for new pens and printer ink but the administrators are already planning their new multi-million dollar expansion with new offices. For themselves. I'll continue to teach in my ancient lab with black mold. And Norway will keep its black mold. And pirates. But I'm sure if there were a mold problem at TDO, it'd get fixed.Wouldnt it be included though in the main budget for the parks upcoming changes of sparkle and additions?
This also seemed to be the issue with norways waterfall, no department wanted to pay for it. It seems like everything is down to department squabbles now instead of as a whole, like it kind of use to be.

That's where my hopes lie too! What department would possibly want to pay to clean up somebody else's mess? The BAH was paid for from the centenary budget, without a budget allocated to its removal. It's now stuck in the Twilight Zone. The unit that paid for its erection is gone, the hat is still there. Hope now rests with a park-wide beautification budget, with a general re-allocation of the hub.Makes sense, just thought it might be included in the DHS revamp package.

Unfortunately Micechat did something to their forums otherwise I would dig up @WDW1974 thread where he said the wand was being removed and that was a good 6 months before the walls went up. He was the first to report.
But like you said Siemens didn't like the wand but at DMGM who from the outside is going to tell Disney to get rid of it?
Isn't black mold a health hazard?Makes sense, just thought it might be included in the DHS revamp package.
