Well, Well. Well. What a Thread this is. I am really enjoying this one. We have a person of interest with possible connections and brings rumors. Credibility or not, this is truly one to watch. I am originally from Missouri and still have my Show Me attitude, so I will need to see it to believe it.

I do like the idea of Alien leaving. I would like to see "rings", but I agree is seems sort of small to do justice to the rights paid for. I am but a humble mortal though without any "Know" :shrug:

The orriginal bit of info mentioned the CM eyeing a particular piece of jewelry. I would think that The One Ring would be said piece. Im not sure exactly what jewelry they would be referring to in POTC....

What about the pirate medalion?

if they do pirates i would hope they would put in Will and Elizabeth Turner.

Yeah, I just don't see paying for the rights to LotR to do this when they could just use Pirates. As for the comment about the real ride 5 miles away, there are plenty of scenes in the Pirates trilogy that are a FAR CRY from the original ride. Could you imagine a scene on the ride involving the final battle in At World's End? Incredible...and with as lifelike as they can make animatronics, now, they could actually pull off a very nice Davy Jones vs. Captain Jack battle.

Maybe there is no "Star Tours 2.0" and the filming was for the new section of the Great Movie Ride all along?

Any more pirates? We have one ride that was around for 40 years before the Pirates movies started (well, the DL version). I don't really think an original ride and a 1-minute segment of another ride is too much for a billion dollar franchise, myself. I'd love to see Captain Jack replace Pocahontas in Fantasmic!, but I can dream on about that, I think.

Everyone keeps saying that to just put LOTR in the GMR would be a waste, but what if that's all Tolkein, Jackson, New Line Cinema and co. would allow? I could see them all being just as protective of this franchise as Rowling. I'm a little skeptical of putting the Pirates trilogy in the Great Movie Ride, because honestly, while it may be very entertaining, I think it is a far cry from great. Popularity does not equate to greatness, in my opinion.

Second, the entire Alien scene is going the way of the dodo. In its place will be a scene from a recent trilogy, along with new dialogue for the hijacker who will fall for the alure of a certain piece of jewelry in the scene. You can expect some big PR buzz about the latter as some are already calling it the "Potter-swatter." Obviously its just one of several additions Disney views as having a significant response to any additions other theme parks or resorts may be featuring.

Now have yourself a grain of salt.

Screw the Yeti...Gollum diving for his "precious" and plunging into the fires of Mount Doom causing a massive eruption spewing guests back to the station is a helluva lot more exciting that a big stuffed animal that swings his arms some of the time ~tongue placed firmly in cheek...but only slightly...that would actually be an incredible ride if MGM ever feels the need to build a Mountain, which they should~

The books are so short that they are combining them--The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is book 2 and Prince Caspian is Book 4). Eragon sucked.

The first book would be EXTREMELY difficult to make as the first movie. The story delves too deeply into the 'prestory' to make it watchable.

Remember that in publication order, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe was first, and Prince Caspian was second.

Also, the third book chronologically was not about the Pevensies, which is why it is skipped for movies, at least for now.

The next movie will be 'The Voyage of the Dawn Treader' which was published 3rd and is 5th chronologically. It keeps two of the Pevensies, but that might be changed to all four for the sake of the movie.

I always thought that they were only going to cover the Pevensie children's travels in Narnia and not the entire story.


And yes, Eragon sucked and will not be turned into an attraction.
