Unlimited Fastpasses, Two Disney Hotels, and a Chef’s Table – It’s all Good Until Somebody Barfs

I just got back from the Happiest Place on Earth! And oh how I love it there. Disneyland is my home away from home. We spent so much time there when we lived in California and I have so many wonderful memories of it. I don’t get there near as often as I like anymore. So when some training was offered for travel agents, I knew I was there!

Who – Me of course! And Pam, Missy and Dani were coming for training too! There was a whole gaggle of Kingdom Konsultants! Well, is four a gaggle? Maybe not, but it was still fun! Here we all are from left to right Tammy, Missy, Pam and Dani:

DisneylandTrainingDay326.jpg

When – August 22nd -August 27th

Where – 4 nights at the Grand Californian and one at the Disneyland Hotel

What – Some agent training and some fun!

Catch phrase of the trip – “It’s all good until somebody barfs.” Don’t worry, nobody actually barfed. :) More on that later…

No problem! When I was there with Jess once we kept calling him Thumper! Then we realized Thumper would not be in front of Sleeping Beauty's castle. :)

LOL, and Thumper is a little more chubby! This one's kind of skinny. Thumper/Bambi would fit perfectly in Critter Country, if they ever decide to use those characters.

Just got into reading trip reports a few days ago. Really loving yours, your pictures are beautiful. Hope I can make to Disneyland someday it looks like such fun, haven't been since I was 4. Luckily I get to frequent Disneyworld though.

I know! It really doesn't even look like Thumper! But we were looking for a rabbit with a name! :)

Thank you, Tinker bubbles! Frequenting Disney World isn't a bad alternative! :)

Now we left to head back to the hotel. Jamba Juices on Pam!

For the next two nights I was moving to a room with Missy. Missy was a relative newbie to Disneyland. Her first trip since she was 7!! Since she’s, well not 7 anymore, there have been about a gazillion changes!

When she got there, we checked her in and headed off to our room which was over in the villas section. It wasn’t a villa but there were some differences. The soaps were different, the shower head was different, etc.

Our room was a standard view room. We could see the top corners of some rides:

Missy and I like different kinds of hotels. She loves the Wilderness Lodge. It’s just not my favorite. The Grand Californian is similar in many ways so we talked about why I love the Grand Californian so much more. I love both their lobbies, and I think the grounds are beautiful at both. It’s the rooms that do it for me. The Grand Californian has beautiful elegant rooms. The Wilderness Lodge has much more rustic rooms. Some people love it I know! And I’m really not knocking it. It’s the least expensive deluxe and the perfect option for some people. I’m just hoping that when they do the room refurb, it will turn out a little more Grand Californian-ish.

After admiring our room we headed off to lunch because we were starving! I wanted to try some of the new food in Cars Land and it was hot out, so we looked for something with air conditioning. We settled on Flo’s.

Missy and Pam had turkey:

I had a kids meal which, while yummy, was very small! Well it was even smaller considering I don’t eat about ¼ of what was on the plate. I couldn’t complain though. I did order a kids meal after all.

Dani had the mac and cheese kids meal:

And a milkshake!

We walked around Cars Land for a little while but we decided to wait to ride again until the next morning.

We rode Screamin’next! Love love that coaster. Here’s what happens when you snap pictures from the top without looking:

DisneylandTrainingDay2253.jpg

We strolled the pier but I didn’t take many pictures because it was crowded and the sun was harsh!

Here’s Corn Dog Castle though:

We did stop so I can buy some Mickey Ears for picture taking purposes later in the week.

Crazy hats!

Dani and Pam went back to the room to get ready and Missy and I detoured to Ghirardelli.

I don’t remember what Missy had but I believe it involved peanut butter:

DisneylandTrainingDay2304.jpg

My sundae was to die for. Well except for the chocolate square on top which was incredibly nasty. Biter maybe?

DisneylandTrainingDay2305.jpg

While we were eating, Missy pointed out the pay phones near us which I’d never really noticed before. Does anyone ever use pay phones anymore? Really? It’s an honest question!

DisneylandTrainingDay2308.jpg

We went back to the room after that to change for our first meeting.

Tonight was a brief introduction to the trainers and other agents. We found everyone’s favorite agent, Tommy!

No real picture of him at this point, just on our instagram.

Up next – tours of the Disney Hotels!

Love the TR Tammy! You are just a traveling machine lately! So jealous!!

New Orleans Square is super cute! I think maybe just cause it's different than anything in MK! I showed my sister the Blue Bayou and told her how the Pirates boats go right by and she decided we need to go to DL to see that lol oh and for the 24 layer chocolate cake! (She's quite a chocoholic lol)

The pics are all great! And yummmmm, Jamba Juice!! LOVE it!! We don''t have one here, closest one is in Boston. I love their smoothies!!!!

Oh I just found this Tammy!

Loved your last DL TR! Can't wait to delve into this ;)

After that, Dani and Pam stopped for some Starbucks while I was sorely tempted by Clarabelle’s Ice Cream, but we were eating big in about an hour so I showed some small modicum of self restraint.

Say it isn't so!!!!! That hand-dipped bar was nearly the best thing I ate in DL. Gotta go back!!!
