United Kingdom at Epcot to Celebrate the Royal Wedding

Joining the Swan and Dolphin and the Disney Wedding Pavilion, the UK Pavilion in Epcot will also celebrate Friday morning's Royal Wedding. The pavilion will be decorated in celebration of the occassion and guests dining at the Rose and Crown will receive UK flag stickers and can participate in Royal Wedding Trivia. In addition, a small complementary tasting of the "royal wedding cake" and a small toast of champagne will also be done during lunch and dinner.

Here's how much I care.....when is it??? I really have no clue..I know its coming up...but when???

Tomorrow 11am GMT. It would be stupid if the UK pavillion did not have any association with the royal wedding! Historically it is a big day for the UK.

I can't understand for the life of me why anyone cares so much about this wedding.

It is extremely huge because:
A. He will be the future king.
B. Princess Diana's Son
C. Royal Wedding
D. The people of England love him
E. People love Fairy Tale weddings.
F. Many more but I am giving up.

For the same reason why people care about Angelina's kids. Or who Jessica Simpson is dating now. Except magnitudes greater as how often does royalty get married? Not very often. Normal celebrities get married weekly, but a prince? Not often at all.

That said, the hoopla over this is crazy. I have no desire to see any more pictures of tacky souvenirs they are selling in the UK.

You forgot the most important reason of all - we've been given a day off work to celebrate!

People seem to have a real downer on this wedding and I just can't understand why. Wills is out future king :king: and - more than that - he is a genuinely lovely guy and I wish him and Kate all the luck in the world.:sohappy:

I wish them all the luck in the world too. I just think the hoopla over celebrities is crazy.

Not to offend any of our friends from the UK on the board, but this line from The Naked Gun always cracks me up. Leslie Nielsen's character at a press conference before the Queen's visit to the United States:

"Protecting the safety of the Queen is a task that is gladly accepted by Police Squad. For no matter how silly the idea of having a Queen might be to us, as Americans we must be gracious and considerate hosts."

Because a Prince is marrying a princess...... why the hoopla?? People love the idea of a fairy tale princes and princess riding into the sunset. It's the same reason Dinsey's princess movies generate so much moola. The same reason they just built the the Beasts castle, developed a new Snow white ride and are putting the finishing touches on Ariels new pad. The same reason they just announced princess themed rooms at the resort.

Love them or hate them... the world loves their happily every after and it all starts with a prince and a princess. Never a King and Queen... we don't care about them... LOL

Let's face it. When you visit the UK what do you, as a tourist, go and see.

the changing of the guard,
the Tower of London,
Various castles and/or palaces through-out the UK
(when in Liverpool - ya - you might take a tour of the Beatles' places).

Get rid of the royals and then you reduce the income to the UK. Their balance of payments would tumble.

The royals provide lots of income to the UK - far exceeding what they cost the country.

So - a royal wedding ----- lots of money in for a little expenditure.

Exactly, that why The British Invasion can be found at the UK Pavillion, so why not celebrate a royal wedding! Surely the American Pavillion celebates lots of American occassions!

If you are doing all the above you are visiting England!!
If you are visiting the UK you would also be including Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The UK is not just one country, as much as they like to believe it is.

As for getting rid of the royals, I would rather they did this and saved taxpayers money for important things such as better education and better healthcare!!
Just my opinion

Big day for ENGLAND maybe!!
The majority of the rest of the UK couldn't give a damn, its just costing us as taxpayers!!

I don't know if the rest of the UK gives a damn, nor do you. Actually this wedding is bringing money into the UK, there are more things I get annoyed about regarding wasting taxpayers money and this ain't one of them. Plus don't Scotland, Ireland & Wales have castles? Balmoral?

Heading for the great escape.

Given your comments about castles Ill assume you are testament as to why we need to spend more on education. I was going to point out that the monarch would ultimately be replaced by another form of head of state and they tend to cost so much more, but that would probably be too much info to compute.

Gawd bless you mammmm
