United Kingdom at Epcot to Celebrate the Royal Wedding...

Not sure if anyone was watching the ABC news coverage, but they cut to various parts of the country watching....one was Orlando. I thought it was a bit odd they chose Orlando, until I realized it was the wedding pavillion and various guests were wearing the Mickey bride ears.

Beautiful bride, beautiful gown. Interesting to watch, but I didn't see the need for a week's worth of live coverage...especially with all the devastation occurring in the south right now...

My last tour was as an instructor at Cosford, and we used to take our students to the museum on the airfield every other week. Between that and having free access to the Iron Bridge and Black Country museums it was a hard life. :ROFLOL:

I used to enjoy watching the U2s when I lived near Alconbury.

What a life! I was in the ATC when I was a teenager (not for long!) and wanted to join the RAF but never had the confidence to do it. It will always be a regret of mine. Must go to an airshow soon, its been too long.

Just saw the end of a programme with James May in a U2! Recording it when on again later.

I hope no Americans are watching the Wedding on Fox News, Sheppard Smith is making a complete tit of himself! "My bathroom is the same colour as that tie", then "That womans hat looks like a fly net", and to top it of "Who's that" uuurrrr that the British Prime Minister!!!!! I only turned it on for a few minutes! I'm turning back to some informative Uk TV. :hammer:

I watched it on the Beeb (ok, BBC America, really). They know how to keep quiet!

I've got a question about the choirs, if you can answer--what was the difference between the boys who were wearing the red coats with the lace jabots (right word??) and the other boys who were wearing the white/red? I was just wondering.

I have a passion for WW2 aircraft (and others!) so this was amazing. Duxford is one of my favourite places in the world (other than WDW) the rumble of a lancaster is the best feeling.

If you have the change while visting the US tour the Wright-patterson AFB museum in Ohio. For anyone with a passion for old aircraft it's a must see.

Many Fox watchers - myself included - feel the same way as you. When Shep's program comes on we turn it off. He's not our "cup of tea" either. Please don't take Shep's remarks personally - he does that with everyone. But I take offense even though I am from the US and I apologize for his tasteless and disrespectful comments. I had expected a bit more class from Fox because Great Britain is ALL about respect and properness. The decision to send Shep must have come from someone who has been living under a rock.

I also watched it on BBC. It was great. My daughter had on Good Morning America and shut it off for the samereason. She said the reporting was embarassing. She came and watched it with me. I love the Royals! I thought the wedding was awesome!!

Also worth checking out is the Naval Air Museum in Pensacola, FL -- some great WWI/II stuff there.

On topic, count me among the "I don't care" group. I wish them well as I would any newlyweds, but I haven't seen a lick of coverage myself. Well, that's if you don't count the folks bumping their gums about "THE KISS!!!" outside my office.

Shep is def one of a kind. I decided to tune into ABC today. They probably have the best coverage. He tends to critique everyone..it's just his style. A lot of people can't stand him though.

Anyway..I wish the new couple all the best.

Is this thread turning into the equivalent of an "I hate Bush, I hate Obama" type of American conversation, only spoken by members of the UK? Or perhaps a Red Sox vs. Yankees type of thing? In any case, I share no excitement for the wedding, but I certainly wish the young couple a very long and happy marriage.

Come on, you know a Red Sox vs. Yankees thing is a lot more serious than this.

I didn't find Sheppard offensive but then I only saw a few minutes! What I saw I found embarrassing for HIM! Came across as a bit think.

As to the WW2 places of interest, I would love to visit so many places but when in Florida time is tight. I know theres a place in Florida I always see leaflets for. Not enough time or money

I've never actually watched an episode myself, could never bring myself to do it. The adverts alone make me cringe

I can empathize; having Italian-American ancestry I can not bring myself to watch “Jersey Shore.” Of Course having Native American ancestry I’m was never a big fan of “westerns” either. Except for those about the battle of the Little Big Horn, but again I digress.

Have just looked it up - there was the choir of Her Majestys Chapel Royal who I think were in red and the others were the Choir of Westminster Abbey

I thought Kate looked beautiful and I wish them lots of luck....it made me proud to be British!

Two words...IT'S HISTORY! I love all things British and all things UK...I think I was born in the wrong country (lol) I got up at 5 a.m. and promptly switched on ABC so I could watch all the pre-wedding arrivals, celebrations and the wedding itself! I love fairy tales and this one is a classic...they were both beautiful, it was a beautiful wedding and I'm hoping deep down in my heart....that this fairy tale "lives happily ever after....":)

Me too! You can beat a good old royal wedding! We don't get this pomp & ceremony that often so enjoy it when it's here! Pass me a cucumber sandwich! :king:

Thanks for finding that out!

I didn't get up early, but recorded the whole thing so I can see the arrivals--I love seeing what everyone wears, especially the hats, love the hats! I was able to see the end of the ceremony live, and the procession to B__________gham Palace, and they came out on the balcony just a minute before I had to leave for work. Lovely couple, wasn't it funny how William was walking soooo carefully back down the aisle, looked like he was terrified to step on the dress!!

Will watch all the fashion when I get home from WDW on Tuesday. I do have to wonder, though, what was Princess Beatrice thinking with that headpiece?? (I can't call it a hat) As my mother used to say (and still does on occasion), who let her out of the house like that? I'm all for avant-garde (although I think there's a time and a place and this wasn't it), but it wasn't even attractive on the poor girl.
