I agree, but they way people are reacting, you would think the new narration was done by Hitler and included an animatronic of Stitch taking a dump on the Epcot model.

You mean it doesn't??

I could have sworn I saw a pic or read a post saying just that SOMEWHERE in this ungodly long thread....:p

If that happened and they still kept the "NOW APPROACHING..." and "PAGING MR. TOM MORROW" this would of all been fine.

They have been touching EPCOT a lot lately. For the better too.

I personally agree, but there will still be some for whom the changes are not either comprehensive or radical enough. I guess this forum is their best place to vent....

The changes have been bit by bit and FAR from complete.:D

Some people just want to wake up one morning with everything fixed.

Anyway,I guess this is a disscussion for a different thread.

Oh, I agree. I've very pleased with the progress being made, especially in areas and parks not part of the expansion plans. Nothing at all wrong with some TLC and improvements in moderation.....

I rode TTA yesterday. Yes, the new spiel really IS that mindnumblingly dull.

The good new - or bad news if you like it - is that it's also VERY quiet. At some points, you can't even easily hear the entire thing he's selling, er, spieling. Unless you're paying attention, it's just background noise more than anything.

There aren't currently any known expansion plans for Epcot. :veryconfu

And I never said there were. What I say was that I was glad to see a park not part of the current expansion plans (such as Fantasyland in MK) still getting some TLC.

I dont understand why people who like the new narration are bashing the ones who dont like it. It has nothing to do with cynicism and is just a prefernce on two different versions of narration. It is ironic that stating that posters who dont like it are overreacting, and in the next sentence saying they are acting like Hitler was involved in the change. That statement is an overreaction in itself.

The reason I dont like the new narration is simple. They chose to go away from immersive theming and turned the ride into a commercial. Including a traffic report, paging Mr. Morrow, and telling passengers who may be intergalactic beings to watch their appendages as they exit the vehicle makes the blue line a part of something much larger than it is. The old narration makes you feel as though you are in another time and place while the new narration makes you feel like you are just at a theme park.

I love some of the old spiels like now approaching...and again the Mr. Morrow joke and I am not upset that they are gone. The old spiels ran their course, but to replace them with a new immersive story would be better than a theme park tour. Honestly, I dont even care if characters are added and dont mind the characters in the new narration. I just dont like the new narration as a whole telling me to put the "peddle to the metal in my very own race car" because that is no story at all. Disney has always been about theming and taking you to another place and this is a step back.

In closing, the TTA is one of my favorite rides because of its relaxing nature and the new narration will not make me ride it any less. However, I will enjoy it less now that it no longer takes me to another place and time, but merely takes me around on a tour of attractions. It is an opinion that is expressed in a forum in which we talk about such changes. The changes dont really affect my overall quality of life in any way, but I am still going to have an opinion on them whether it is a postive or negative one.

This is another thing that bothered me when listening to the new narration. In certain sections of the ride I had trouble understanding what the narrator was saying and had to listen very hard. Especially in the tunnels. I figured any new narration would be much more clear. but this is really garbeld at times. I guess it is for the best that certain passengers like myself can just tune it out and take in the awesome views.

So is this whole thread. And so are the people saying it ruined TLand. If it's preference then ok, but don't get so serious. It's not a big deal. Chill out.
