Sure, but they are building Tron in a way that will ensure it isn't a ruin in 2000 years. Fish will still be gleefully riding it!

SeaWorlds new coaster is opening at the same as Tron but only took a year to build.

SeaWorld has some of the best coasters in Orlando.

Yep, and they are really easy to build because they are largely unthemed metal monstrosities.
Sea World builds them as quickly as Six Flags.

Universal opened Hagrids in a short time. I don't remember exactly how long but no one can argue that tron, a very simple coaster, that is a mirror image of an existing one.

I agree with the first part about them being unthemed. I disagree about them being metal monstrosities. You make it sound like they a bad rides cause they aren't hidden inside some big warehouse. I get many here like theming. Does anyone like thrill and positive and negative G forces?

Central Florida is the themed entertainment capital of the world. I don’t need to board a plane to ride a B&M floorless. As fun as it may be.
Hagrid took 21 months. And it used a site that was already prepped for a coaster. I’m not defending TRON’s bloated timeline. I’m calling out a comparison to any of the Six Flags Over Whales projects. About 6 months is customary for such a coaster.
I would argue 3 years would have been reasonable for TRON given the site work that was required. It was planned to require about 3 1/2 years of construction. The extra 2 years are ridiculous but I guess make sense given other projects that have opened in 2020, 2021, and 2022.

It's not a B&M floorless. It's a first of its kind launched stand-up coaster.

They have a B&M floorless…you are willfully ignoring the fact that they put in coasters that the manufacturers design and plop down for them. Just like Six Flags. That’s not how Disney or Universal work. Comparing apples to tacos doesn’t make a valid point.

I do too, it’s so beautiful, also amazing how a couple trees can make the Speedway shed disappeared overnight.
I think the trees and natural beauty is one of the reasons we love amusement/theme parks so much (and golfing), with city parks having safety issues it’s the safest way to get a little nature without having to go to a national park.

anyone know what the plan is for the views to the right of the actual ride entrance? Trees? Or will the build a higher wall instead of the railings installed elsewhere? There’s the emergency exit door to the stairway so maybe a wall that high? I assume they want you to see Space Mountain, but there’s a ton of backstage to hide in between

TRON is not a mirror of the coaster in Shanghai, it is just rotated. But the problem with most of these comparisons is they compare different things and different processes.

I know Disney does thing differently than most parks. It's not hard to understand why people say these things when they take so long to build things

You know they do something different, but what is actually different? You’re making comments comparing this to Pipeline which regardless of any process differences is a vastly different scope of work.

One is a highly themed ride and one is just a generic coaster. Of course its going to take more time to build. The point still stands that in your average guests eyes it's not a good look.

For what it's worth, I spoke with one of the "blue tent" CM's today about the railroad and she said that they had all of the track laid already that they had to take some of it back up again because the measurements were off and the tracks weren't measuring up with each other. Grain of salt I guess...
