Anyone know what the purpose of the (currently neon green) structure is in the far upper right corner of this image? (it looks like a doorway at the top of the emergency steps). I assume those are emergency exit steps (they don't appear to lead anywhere), so I would assume they would want a gate with some sort of alarm on it to prevent guests from casually going down those steps (or maybe to even alert the ride ops that the gate has been opened), but the portal-way like arch they built seems like overkill...

Meh, the concrete could at least be textured so the guests think they are walking on flat galactic rocks.

Just as you describe I think it is going to be a themed door leading to the emergency stairs/maintenance stairs.

We can only hope. Just wait for the excitement the first time we see the train being going through that tunnel during it's testing phase before reopening.

Wish theyād tear out the concrete along the speedway hill and match it with grass like on the other side. Grass and a few trees/flowers/shrubs would really soften the area.

I'm thinking they are selling a train package for $229 where you can have a camera on a tripod to take close action pictures of the rolling stock as it pulls up the hill. Train nuts will pay
Or it could be egress for the train in case of stoppage? Evac route?

fwiw, they were cycling Tron trains on Friday night (during a not so scary party). I imagine they are just trying to tease people.

Electric cars for Speedway has long been an almost-announced plan to update it as TRON Racers. So... it is on topic, especially since TRON's front yard abuts Speedway's backyard.
Anyhoo, if a thread really goes off on a lengthy tangent, kindly remind folks of the topic, and if they keep at it, report it to the mods. There's only two of them and they can't read every thread. I've seen *pages* of posts deleted after reporting egregious tangents.
