Yes
Doesn’t Disney purposely make most construction projects 3 years so that they can spread out costs of these large projects. It probably looks better on the books for wallstreet.
I also think it helps with competition, they finish projects around the same time Universal opens something new to draw guest away from Universal.

I forgot if this has been talked about already in the forum but is the "supposed" (I forgot if this was confirmed or not) speedway upgrade also gonna be finished/started to get work on before or after Tron does anyone know?

I know @marni1971 has suggested that capacity for this attraction is quite low. The way the Shanghai layout looks, it looks like there's definitely separate load and unload (Like Everest) but are there two separate load and two separate unload stations?

It looks like 14 passenger trains which is probably the real problem here. Consider the following capacity options:
45 second dispatches: 1120 guests per hour
40 second dispatches: 1260 guests per hour
35 second dispatches: 1440 guests per hour
30 second dispatches: 1680 guests per hour

TRON use a double station like BTM with separate load and unload positions. Ride has seven trains and two of those are equipped with the sitdown TAV vehicle.

I looked at my friend's video where he placed a camera in Tommorrowland and recorded the land BGM for an hour. At the same time, you could see TRON since it was pointing that way and the average launch interval was between 35-45 seconds. I don't know if all seven trains were running at the time, but its a sample.

Tell your friend that's an incredible video. It's neat to see SDL TL come alive as it gets dark. I've put it on tons of times for some work music.

I will pass the compliment to him!

China has a small roller coaster enthusiast community, but they are very active and growing at a great rate. They are doing incredible work when it comes to educating parks about their amazing attractions, recording and documenting the new attractions there and keeping a close eye on what's happening at Shanghai Disneyland. I try to help them whenever I can and I even showed up at a coaster event in China last year to support them.

It's nice and all but looks kinda like any casino or a really nice shopping mall....
To each their own, I can certainly see your point of view, but as I haven't hidden it very well in this thread I am a TRON fanboy so if I think of it in terms of being "in" the grid, I think it fits perfectly. Especially once you enter the queue where music from the actual Tron movies is incorporated. It really immerses you.

I think the interior of the ride is great, it is the building and exterior... It's cool but it is being done all over... and when I think of TRON, I don't think of an amoeba shaped canopy with the usual color-changing LED lights... I actually don't even think of the coaster being outside...

The building form is nearly the same, but that does not at all mean that how the building is put together is the same. Everything big and small has to be reviewed and adjusted for the new location. How an exterior wall goes together changes based on location. All of the electrical equipment needs to be reworked for different voltages and adjustments may be needed to be made to sizings. HVAC requirements are different and similarly must be adjusted. Those types of system adjustments can change the equipment being used, which in turn can impact minor changes in the structure to provide proper support. Occupant loads need to be recalculated and evaluated. Construction type needs to be reviewed and adjusted. The bathrooms need to be redesigned. Materials and dimensions need to be adjusted. Every single thing needs to be reviewed and possibly adjusted just to make it look the same.
True though this is . . . it doesn't take three years to figure this all out. It shouldn't add a year to construction.

Especially because they'd started sorting all that fun stuff out before the project was even announced to the public.

It shouldn't take Disney three years to build this ride in the Magic Kingdom.

Based on the video above, there are as low as 30 second intervals between the trains, although sometime the gap is longer.

Does it bother anyone else that the O in Tron is slightly taller than the rest of the letters?

I will say this again, I personally believe Tron is being placed this way in Magic Kingdom because they know Space Mountain needs to go down for a long refurb (aka, rip everything apart and replace) and there is no way they could loose this much capacity in the MK at the moment. So build and open Tron and Space for the 50th and then close Space Mountain for its long refurb period. Ride the classic now while you can.
