Trip to WDW in Pictures from 1985!!!!!

So after reading some trip reports, it got me reminiscing and I figured while I was getting all nostalgic, I should share with you all my first of many wonderful trips to WDW throught the eyes of me at the age of 4. My parents took me and their friends and son Scott came along, he was 5 years old. I am the "sailor girl" as you can see...please disregard my terrible 80's bowl cut...LOL!!

I hope you enjoy...

Let's get things started with my airline ticket and 3 Day Passport to MK and EPCOT

Oh my... I had that same minnie mouse tshirt you're wearing in the picture with Donald Duck!!!

Love this little glimpse into the past!

It's amazing to see the development of some characters vs. others. For example... Friar Tuck doesn't appear to have changed too much, while Winnie the Pooh has experienced a major makeover... for the better!

Thanks... HollyBelle, that was a lovely shirt/shorts Minnie outfit. My mother bought it for me the second day there and I DEMANDED to wear it everyday!! There's no talking sense to a 4 year old when Minnie is involved I guess.

You don't remember seeing any topiaries looking like THIS over by the Contemporary, do you? :D

Did your parents buy you any hot dogs from Coke Corner on Main Street?

Too bad we can't really see the food and beverage prices on that board, but I can see that both small and large drink prices were under $1. And I also remember there were NO LIDS and PAPER straws!

Hope you all enjoy the throwbacks of old Walt Disney World!!!
Great pics. I used to love flying down on Eastern. Remeber how they used to play Disney music on the plane and how Mickey would greet you at the gate?

I remember the paper straws. They always collapsed after two sips. Anyone remember the Adventureland Veranda? Here is a shot of the popcorn cart from the early eighties. Check out the price.

I love these pictures. This is the Disney I was raised on and remember and love with all my heart. Of course I still love it today, but c'mon, we all know there some something super magical about those days. I have my '87 trip documented on this site in my photo album. Glad to see someone feels as nostalgic about the place as I do.

I can tell you the popcorns were 85 cents in 1985 because I remember having to make constant change. When I went back and worked the summer of 86, the price was an even $1 per box. :D

I see the popcorns were only 50 cents a few years earlier. Nice snap, yankspy!

Here's another shot of those HOTT yellow outdoor foods costumes!
