Well apparently lil BES doesnā€™t love an Ewok. šŸ˜‚ Itā€™s been hard to get her to wear the hood.

šŸ¤žsheā€™ll be more receptive Monday. And šŸ¤žšŸ¤žwe donā€™t really end up with all of the rain thatā€™s predicted for Monday.
Una HATES hats! And only recently has she started to get any hair at all on her little bald head so Aleisha has to wrestle with her constantly over wearing them.
And yes, we'll be rooting for no rain for you. Post pics if you get a chance!

But check out the maroon converse I got the same time I scored that $600 jacket.
I thought those were maroon but didn't comment because in the photo I wasn't sure if they were maroon or black!
Love them! And the jacket rocks, you need to show off your jacket win on here!

Oh believe me when i say it's nice to have time to myself and I'm sure he also enjoys his alone time, probably not as much as me though šŸ˜. Joe likes to travel too and when I go to Disney it takes away from somewhere we could've gone together, hence the guilt.
I really like to see other places, but I HATE the travel part of it....like, the physical packing and getting there. Whenever we fly, I'm a wreck. Once we get there, I'm fine, but the actual trip just causes so much anxiety. I'm headed to Dublin for my friend's book launch in less than 2 weeks, and I'm already nervous because I'm going by myself. My husband is much better at the travel part, but I'm the planner, so whenever something goes wrong, I feel like it's on me. My husband doesn't enjoy the planning bit, so for Disney, where you HAVE to plan things, he gets frustrated, because he just wants to do what he feels like doing when he feels like doing it. And he just doesn't feel like Disney is worth the wait times and whatnot. Disney isn't a place where you can really wing it...at least not if there are specific things you want to do. I feel guilty when we're at Disney, because I can tell he's not really enjoying it. He'd rather be somewhere else. And then HE feels guilty because he knows how much I love Disney and he doesn't want to keep me from going, but he really doesn't want to go. So we agreed that my daughter and I will go to Disney, and he took the money we'd have spent on Disney for him, and he bought a gaming computer. It works out. Neither of us has to sacrifice...we both get to enjoy it. But I get it, in your case. I always thought how much I'd love to do a mother daughter trip, but felt guilty about wanting to go without the boys. Now I don't have to because my husband asked me to.

We've had a very busy last two months and I can't wait for it to calm down. Lily went to Homecoming.

And she ran in her last cross country meet ever.

Owen was featured on a school soccer poster which was fun!

And they finished off the varsity season.

Now on to finding him a new club team for the indoor and spring season.

Logan helped build the Homecoming corn monument this year.

Nothing says Homecoming at Iowa quite like an enormous edifice covered in corn. The tradition is believed to have started in 1919, when a group of enterprising engineering students decided the Pentacrest would look better with a bunch of ears of corn on it.

And he's been busy pledging the engineering fraternity.

Is everyone ready for Halloween? I am not and thankfully my kids are old enough that I don't have to come up with costumes for them if they want to go trick or treating! Logan dyed his hair blue for whatever they are doing there for Halloween this weekend, Owen has soccer try outs on Monday, so no trick or treating for him, and Lily dug out the old Slytherin robes that she and Owen wore one year for her and her boyfriend to wear on Monday. I hope to see pictures of everyone else's little ones in their costumes!!
What lovely pictures from Homecoming! Did she have a great time?

Thankfully, Halloween isn't a "thing" here. In the last few years, we HAVE gotten a handful of Trick-or-Treaters, but not many and only in the last....4 years or so? E went to a Halloween party at her best friend's house the other night. Her group of friends is really food-motivated, so they get together now and then and tell everyone to bring something. So they had cake and cookies and I don't know what all. She didn't send me any of the pictures, so I can't post any, but it looked like they all had a great time.

We've had an issue in our neighborhood in the last week. Someone is setting fires to cars....5 in the last week. E and her friends went out walking in their costumes and were scared they were going to look suspicious, but they were fine.

Oh, and our big Halloween plans are a date night since my husband is back at home after 3 weeks taking care of his parents and their medical issues. So we are going out just the two of us. We haven't had a date night in FOREVER.

They did have a good time at Homecoming! I thought it was bad that we have had some cars being broken into in our neighborhood, but set on fire is a whole new level of crazy! I can't imagine!! Glad your husband is back home and hope his parents are doing better. I hope you have a great date night!!

It IS nuts...this has become kind of a thing in certain areas since the pandemic started. Like people are bored and have nothing else to do, so they set things on fire, usually cars. But there were some kids who put fireworks into a couch that was in an apartment building hallway while some people were moving, and the people were in the elevator I think? The fire caused the alarms to go off and the elevator to shut down, with people inside it, and 2 or 3 people died. Then there were some other kids who set fire to someone's car port or something....caused a bunch of damage, but I don't think anyone was killed in that one. And then the car fires started, but first in the bigger cities. I think someone in our neighborhood got the idea from that, and has started copycatting. There's a group of....delinquents, for lack of a better term, here in our neighborhood who could be responsible. They are my kids' age....one of them was one of the main bullies who made our son's life miserable until we got his diagnosis and sent him to a new school. Then the kid started in on my daughter, and he's since moved on to bigger things than bullying. He smacked a girl's rear end when she was walking through the park....it was a friend of my daughter's. I don't think she reported it, may not have even told her mom. My daughter wouldn't even walk through there for a while because that's where this group of kids hung out and harassed people. But he and a group of friends have been in trouble with the police for different things....setting off fireworks illegally, throwing eggs at people, climbing up on top of buildings, trespassing....it wouldn't surprise me at all to learn that they have a hand in the fires. They've all been in this neighborhood except one, and that one's not far from here...within walking distance. I could be wrong, but it really wouldn't surprise me if it was them. And my next-door-neighbor's nephew is involved in that group and I know his dad has spent time in jail, though I don't know what for. But the boy's always been kind of a terror, and he's had some poor role models. It's not surprising that he's been in trouble with the law too. Though I hope he's not involved in this, for his family's sake. It's been a tough year for them, and they don't need arson charges added to it.

Date night will be great. My husband's work just had a teambuilding day on Friday and they want to a tapas restaurant that he said was really good, so we're going there. I can't wait. The menu looks really good!

Wait....football? I thought your boys all did Lacrosse? Anyway, I bet it's a bit bittersweet, isn't it?
Yes and yes. They play whatever but lax is their number one.
And wow, setting fire to cars. People around here are ā€œbreakingā€ into cars. That is, they try the doors and if they open they go in looking for $ etc. Small stuff, but mostly just cash. My next door neighbors NEVER lock their cars (or house) and their cars kept getting rummaged through. My middle boy, AJ, was outraged. Long story but I figured out it was happening on Thursdays so he camped out in our driveway in his army camo with his airsoft rifle up against the back of the truck and his pistol on his hip. Well, he caught the guy as he was attempting to break into my car. The dude thought the guns were real and almost šŸ’© himself. Our street has not had any problems sincešŸ˜Ž

Oh? The man spends a little time in TN and now he walks around singing rocky top? šŸ¤£
Almost, he cant sing but he has found himself a college team to root for. There aren't any in NY. None. Think about it. NO NY college teams. How does that even happen. Isnt NY suppose to be one of the biggest sports markets? NY doesnt even have a NFL team really. (Except Buffalo which does not count because thats like Canada practically) Giants and Jets both play in NJ soā€¦..yeah, the Volunteers it is. But orange is not in my color wheelšŸ˜‚
sandra bullock dont lie GIF

Ok ok, I look really good in orangeā€¦
