Toy Story Land expansion announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

The "land chewing" that this does on a relatively fixed side of the park is ridiculous for what we is being realized. Flipping the entrance and exit for TSMM and utilizing space that was wasted, under-utilized, abandoned, or redundant for a "land" should be a good thing. This park and AK are starving for attractions. What is being delivered is and will be quite under-whelming versus what almost was (and even that was "good enough"). I'll say this, had this area kept it's original plan and attraction offerings, it would have been better.

I guess I haven't been following this too closely, so I'm just judging it I what I'm seeing now and in the last couple weeks. I can see it being disappointing if you know everything that got cut. And I do still wish we had one more flat ride just as an extra little people eater here. Based just on what it is, I'm excited, based on what it could have been, I guess I'm less excited

I think the hate for TSL stems from management as a whole. I don't think many people would complain if this wasn't the only thing that was new aside from Star Wars, plus the fact that it's taking so long, plus the fact that it's taking up so much space. It's just not a good use of resources at all.

That said, I think the Hong Kong version looks nice, at least better than the Paris one. I watched this tour video the other day that looks kind of nice. DHS really should be the same size of this, with TSMM where Slinky is, Aliens where Parachutes is, and the coaster entrance where RC is, relative to how the video goes through the land.

Something like this is going to look like hell in the Florida sun without biannual repaints. Just look at Seuss land on an even-numbered year.

What was the initial plan for TSL? I don't recall?

Ah, yes I knew the SLinky Dog coaster was shortened with a lot of the Misc theming removed, but what was that board game looking structure supposed to be, no a third attraction? Even from its inception this was a 2 ride expansion, with TSMM flipping entrances.

I believe it was going to be restrooms, but it hasn't actually been removed, just moved and combined with the quick serve location.

That surprises me, Disney normally likes hyper themed bathroom buildings, can't believe they are value engineering that too! Maybe Slinky will get some of the show elements restored as a trade off.... I can dream...

Ok, now I get it. The trenches and extra theming around the coaster is very dissapointing. As is the loss of Woodys Round up. I stills don't think I'd be disappointed with TSL if I didn't know what it was supposed to look like. Its very bare bones comparatively, but I still wouldn't say it's bad or a travesty. It's just... a B- grade that couldve been an A- grade.

This land looks like it's going to be on par with the Simpsons area which I personally enjoy. It's nothing special, it's basic theming and adds a B and C ticket attraction to the lineup.

This would be fine if the other additions (beyond Star Wars) were true additions and not replacements.

When what the park needs most is capacity the better option would've been a Fantasyland like area with plenty more to do. Think Disneyland.
