Toy Story Land expansion announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

I agree they could've at least brought in the slinky ride or RC racer ride from Paris as a third.

Probably issues with sight lines for the RC ride but another flat atleast. These things are cheap to make, especially for a company like Disney. An additional ride or 2 wouldn't have touched the bank balance.

I'm struggling to visualise this land as anything but big pathways with the tacky lights that are in Paris and Hong Kong, all over.

I'm sure the talking heads are considering that the land will have three: Midway Mania, Roller Coaster, and Spinning Saucers. I think the fact that Midway was an already existing ride is kind of a cheap excuse though. A small flat ride would def help. Maybe they can add some kind of show like with the green army men?????

The foundation of the Alien Spinner is not making much since to me yet. Maybe there is just more that needs to be poured before it looks right? Could it be that the attraction has changed?
Actually, the pad looks to be about perfect for the ride

Assuming it's Mater re-themed, the ride system is based on four spinning disks. What appears to be the hub reinforcement for each disk shows up in the photo. The othere portions of the build are no doubt queuing areas and the requisite gift shop. The physical orientation of the ride in reference to the land may have changed from the artists rendering, but I think the attraction is exactly the same.

Yes, it makes more sense to me now. Thanks.
It was confusing as the artist rendering showed more smooth curved edges and the foundation had very sharp edges. Maybe more will be poured or maybe the roof will be more curved. But from what you illustrated it does look like a clone from DL.

Considering the foundation for a ride is already up, this really can't take much longer, can it? I don't see how this isn't done by next fall...I understand they don't want to open at the same time as Avatar, so maybe early 2018, but come on, this really shouldn't take til 2018

Trust me, they know what they're doing. Except with Tot. Tot not closing will prove to me that Disney has logic. Let's wait and see, but as for Toy Story Land they'll open it when the time is right.
