Town Square Theater Concept Art

This is a winning idea no matter how it is themed. I just hope the crowds are big enough that Disney is forced to add a Pixie Hollow AT THE MAGIC KINGDOM to meet guest demand for M&G's. My feelings are that is exactly what will happen. Just so it does not become a permanent part of Future World....

I'm not letting go of this issue. :fork:

PH is fine for the F&G Fest but not year round. :brick:

if they have a 15 ft tall banner of current day Mickey Mouse I will be a little turned off. I would much prefer banners that more or less match the Main Street theme and would show an early Mickey Mouse on them.
I'm not sure how early you're thinking (Steamboat Willie early?), but the banner art looks to me like a scene from "Thru the Mirror" in 1936.

Perfectly said. I love the way they're redoing the exposition hall and I love fastpasses for this popular meet&greet. Let's see if thisstarts popping up in other places.

And agreed. Id likbe a DL styled pixie hollow. But it is a perfect addition to the F&G festival. I feel as though it will move out when the festival does.

You're right. I think it's considered "infamous" ("infa-mouse?" sorry) because it's been promised for a while, but never delivered on a large scale.

Guys, this M&G is going to be incredible. Expect loads of details and immersive theming. It's much classier than Toontown, and almost seems closer to something you'd find in DLP. Plus it's utilizing prime real estate that has been wasted space until now.

Unlike the princess areas that were supposed to come to FLE, this is one M&G I like.

I wonder how this will affect the popularity of Tony's restaurant?

I hope you're right, but meet-greet-and-gropes don't get me all hot and bothered like many fanbois.:drevil:

I was talking to a younger friend (and Disney fanboi) over the weekend and I was trying to explain how when I first went to WDW there was no such thing as meet-and-greets and character meals weren't available anywhere ... ANYWHERE ... and somehow we all managed to survive and have truly MAGICal WDW vacations.

I'm not gonna get into a big debate here about the popularity of the foamheads now. It's pretty obvious that a large number of guests couldn't imagine WDW without numerous pics with teens and 20-somethings making $9-10 an hour while dressing as beloved characters. I get that.

I'd likely not even have an issue with them at all if it wasn't for the fact that Disney has used them to Walmart entertainment at the resort. All that unionized labor talent ... entertainers and musicians ... you don't get them as part of your Disney entertainment diet. It's all foamheads all the time.

As a component of a MK visit, meeting the characters are fine. But Disney has actively made those experiences a focal point at the expense of other entertainment.

As to Tony's, I don't see this having much impact one way or the other. With the DDP, it always seems to do quite well. The meals I've had there (since it went Italian and stopped being the Town Square Cafe in the 1990s) have always been decent with one being very good, but I always seem to hear love it or hate it ...

Sounds like good news for the old Walt Disney Story area...But, One thing...and I mean ONE Thing I still pray is still there just for nostalgia is that Awesome Mural that was updated through the mid 80's...That was so neat to see a few years back...If your not sure what I'm talking about...it's this...http://www.omniluxe.net/wyw/wdsmural.jpg

Couple of things. The guy they have drawing smaller bits of concept art (like this) at Disney really loves drawing guests showing off big teeth. Just an observation.

...

I'm not a huge fan of this style of concept art which seems to popping up a lot recently. It's a lot cartoonier/caricatured, less atmospheric and immersive (as the parks they depict are). But it looks nice for what it is.

Anyway, the new location sounds perfect, and the exterior looks great! I like the sound of the interactive queue too, considering how long the wait times for Mickey can get. But I thought the whole reason for the development of the interactive queue in the first place was so that FastPass could be phased out by coercing people to stay in line. To me, introducing FastPasses to experiences which previously never had them (M&Gs) seems like a step in the wrong direction...

Remember in November when all the tarps came down from in front of the expo hall? What was that all about? Now the expo hall is back behind walls and tarps. Was this all planned and unveiled just in the last few months?

BTW I like the idea.

Hmmm, originally I was slightly skeptical but the more I read about this the better it sounds. This is looking to be a really solid addition.

Anyone know?

I'm so excited about this!

Hopefully some of the old arcade machines (Nickelodeons, strength testers, etc...) that have been scattered across the property find a more permanent home here.

Also, does anyone know if this is going to be the moving mouth, interactive talking Mickey they've been testing.

Highly unlikely. The interactive Mickey seen at Disneyland is still in a test phase and really isn't ready for daily use. Probably be closer to years rather than months before we see it used on a regular basis in the parks.

Is anyone else worried about possible congestion right at the entrance? I can just see everyone making a bee-line for the Mickey FP in the morning and the line, spilling out onto Main Street and cloging the whole right entrance. Also when Main Street gets crowded, it gets really crowded. Trying to leave the park in/around the mid-parade could be a potential nightmare. Not to mention the quiet dinners (okay sem-quiet) at Tony's Town Square will be...different. I'm curious to see how this will work for Main Stret traffic.

I think this might very well be the reason for FP: to make people not join the line at the moment they arrive, but to distribute guests more over the day. Othewise I would think this meet & greet would suffer very much from the Space Earth effect: really long lines during the morning, no one there in the afternoon...
