Town Square Theater Concept Art

How does DCA handle this for World of Color?

This is done seperately from the regular fast pass system, because it really doesn't follow the rules of an attraction. This is done to prevent people from camping out all day to save spots for the show. The meet and greet in more on par with a normal attraction, and I assume that the fastpass would be connected with the rest of the system.

Sorry, but I think this space should be permanently reserved for The Walt Disney Story, even if it is also a Mickey Mouse meet-n-greet.

Why is the talking version of Mickey infamous? I thought it looked cool. Infamous means famous for a bad reason. A well known criminal is infamous.

You're right. I think it's considered "infamous" ("infa-mouse?" sorry) because it's been promised for a while, but never delivered on a large scale.

Guys, this M&G is going to be incredible. Expect loads of details and immersive theming. It's much classier than Toontown, and almost seems closer to something you'd find in DLP. Plus it's utilizing prime real estate that has been wasted space until now.

Unlike the princess areas that were supposed to come to FLE, this is one M&G I like.

I wonder how this will affect the popularity of Tony's restaurant?

This is great news. I agree this is a great use of the space, and it also brings Mickey to a more mature (and classic, IMHO) setting in the park. I'm not that keen on M&G's personally, but I think TDO gets an A+ for the idea thus far.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this will all work. I hope they let guests have time with the characters and it's not a straight "love and shove" location.

Wonder if they will build two rooms - one for standby, and the other for Fastpass.

Like this idea though - better than just a lot of empty space in that building.

I think One Man's Dream does a better job than The Walt Disney Story, because of all the displays on hand, opposed to just the movie.

Hook ran for Mayor of Main Street? That sounds awesome!
Yeah you would go and vote and they would keep a tally of who got what votes.

At the end of the campaign (around 5 or so) they would have a little mini parade with whoever won.

It was a cute little addition. There were banners and whatnot up all over the place. Not garish by any means but significantly more pronounced than that concept art.

I much prefer when the characters are walking around the parks and interacting with the guests, the only place they seem to do that anymore is the teacups. I think that the Pooh area would be even cooler if the characters were interacting with the guests in the new line

Having said that, I think that this is a good idea.

If this is to be themed as a theater, will old cartoons be playing in the theater like GMR?

I may be in the minority here...but I just have to say that I love the direction all of this "concept" art is taking.

At first, the cartoony art bugged me because it felt so childish and "one-trick-pony" like coming from an animation company...but the more I see, the more I like.

Yes, it still gives you a vague idea of what it will look like...but in a fun way...and still leaves us waiting to see what it looks like when it's finished.

Also, while this works with the Magic Kingdom, I'd like to see different art styles for any concept art for the other parks.

And...to keep this on topic,
I'm a big fan of Mickey moving to Main Street...because, like Steve said earlier, it gives a Main Street "must-see" attraction. Plus, with it being in the front of the park, it's like Mickey is welcoming you when you enter...and wishing you good-night as you leave.

I do like the concept art, it is bit DLP like, Im feeling a little indifferent on the huge banners being thrown on the front, not sure I like that idea its a bit much, in your face, but Ill get use to it.

What concerns me is Tony's, its going to be impossible to get in, reservations or walkup, once this opens. It was always fairly easy at least at lunch time.

And that would be one more reason for Disney to move Mickey here. Spread the mid-day crowds out to utlize an area and restaurant that don't get utlized as much. It's consistent with much of the Next Gen stuff -- focus is on getting more/better use out of what's there, rather than building more.

If it happens that Tony's becomes consistently crowded, wait for a meet n greet to be added near Tomorrowland Terrace next. Underutlized bathrooms and food service there.

If this meet and greet means more people waiting for Mickey and less people in line in front of me on Space Mountain, I'm game.

Couple of things. The guy they have drawing smaller bits of concept art (like this) at Disney really loves drawing guests showing off big teeth. Just an observation.

Secondly, this looks snazzy, and I love that Mickey will have a home on Main Street, and that guests can FastPass this if Mickey is their ideal attraction for them/their kids is fantastic. I wouldn't do it, but it being there is a great addition.

Finally, It would be very cool if they could do Meet and Greets with the talking Mickey head, but when that video first came out, it was stated it was still very experimental and that even Disneyland (where they were testing it) wouldn't see a full implementation of it for years.) That kind of a M+G with costume characters isn't going to happen for a while :(
