I could be wrong, but from my understanding, Rock 'N' Roller Coaster was an original attraction when it came out, as in it was the first to have that track layout.
Even though it has been duplicated since, whoopdy-doo. It's the theming I go for, not just the ride, and I get what I want in spades.

The centrifuge is the tool to tell the story right, not the aim of the ride. Point is, you don't feel it is spinning. I could also say: what is the point of going up and down really fast on TOT? Going around is boring, but it simulates speed and G forces, and therefore a lift off 100000000x better than a RRC launch, and for that it is exciting.
You go upside down on RRC but to me, MS is much more engaging and disorienting.

Actually, TOT was about to make my list...the ONLY parts I liked about TOT was stopping to see the ghosts and going through the 'Twilight Zone' room. If it didn't have those elements in there, it would be completely pointless.
btw, what exactly IS the story told on MS? I've never been on it (which I'm sure I'll get blasted for that since I put it on my list) but from what I gather all there is is Gary Sinise doing the pre-show, then you get in the pod, watch a computer animated video of going to Mars while feeling like your blasting off in a rocket, and pushing buttons when your told to. But if disorientation is the feeling they're going for, then heck! I could do that for free! All I have to do is spin around for a few minutes.

Well you pretty much listed everything in the ToT ride except for the drops there :animwink:
And I guess I need to add a new rule here. You actually have to have ridden the attraction to say it is overrated :brick: . There is NO way you can say an attraction is overrated if you've never even been on it! While Mission Space is not my all time favorite attraction and I would still rather have Horizons, M:S is STILL a wonderful thrill ride and is something to be proud of (if you worked on it). M:S is something you have to experience because you aren't going to get that type of feeling from "spinning around for a few minutes". I hate to blast you here, but you really did ask for it (Literally)

I was in no way saying that M:S wasn't a good ride, or a waste of time (for thrill seekers I'm sure it's great). I dunno...I still don't see the point of it because no one has ever said what exactly the story is behind it. I still stand by my belief that it's overratted. And, according to some of the other lists on this thread, I'm not the only one.
And I didn't 'literally' ask you to blast me...I just said I figured it was going to happen.
*edit* There's such a thing as being overhyped...so maybe that's what I think about when I think of M:S. Not so much overrated, as overhyped.

Disney was the first to use that EXACT track design. However, it by no means the first coaster of its kind.
