Yeah I agree. I was just joking about a 5th park HOWEVER if they can fix expand and enhance the ones they have another park (done well) could help spread out crowds in the world too but they do have to fix what they have now and it believe they are moving towards that...we'll see

That would require TDO to SPEND money that would otherwise go to stock buybacks, Not gonna happen until gate drops.

to go along with the other half day park(s)(depending on your viewpoints)
Well, right now when you add the days up, we have 1 + 1 + 1/2 + 1/2 = 3 full days. If they built 2 more half day parks, we'd have a full 4 days, which is how it's advertised now. Plus 2 new parks means 18 months of working attractions!

I do care about the weirdos that hold up their iPads above their heads that creates a flashlight behind the person.
True. But considering the fact that so many people have their faces smashed against the glass of their giant LCD TVs, why would they want to go on vacation and be forced to stare at some boring castle in front of them when they can watch it in 9.7" bliss on a a portable TV? Everything's better on TV! We don't need no stinking reality....unless it's reality on TV! ;) :banghead:

I'm not a scary guy, but for some reason people avoid me...lol
Use that to your advantage in getting to the front of lines! It's the one MyDisneyExperience that won't cost you more on vacation...yet. When they start charging based on height, weight, shoe size, etc. then you can kiss those free-bees goodbye.

Do you realize 10 years ago the economy was a little different and we were 3 years removed from 9/11.
9/11 is not the issue. Let's talk numbers.

Annual attendance at the Magic Kingdom using some sample years:
  • 1972: 10.7 million
  • 1982: 12.6 million
  • 1992: 11.5 million
  • 2002: 14.0 million
  • 2011: 17.1 million
  • 2012: 17.5 million
  • 2013: 18.6 million
Immediately after 9/11, crowds were actually higher than prior decades.

Today's insane crowd level at the Magic Kingdom is a recent phenomenon.

I'm thinking the rise in attendance is due to the increase in the South American Economy. There is a much larger Hispanic consumer than ever before at Disney.

Nice data. What I do not understand is how the media says everyone is poor yet one of the most expensive places in the country to visit gets so many visitors? The demographic of disney has dramatically changed over the last 20 years (and even more so the last 10 years). As recent as 7 years ago - if you went to disney you were considered "elite" - rich if you stayed on property. Now anyone and everyone is on property. The same is applied to the holidays - if everyone is so poor why are the malls so packed.

It was pretty dead last week. But overall, it's really not slow anymore. You can get lucky and hit a few days that are slower. I felt really lucky last week the crowds were so enjoyable. REALLY lucky, because after May I was pretty much done. The crowds then were horrendous. I couldn't get over it. So awful.

People living beyond their means. It's tough to admit you can't afford what used to be pretty affordable. That plus the international visitors are much more numerous than they used to be.

I don't get it. I'm currently here and from what I see the parks are dead. Magic Kingdom hub got crowded during castle lighting of course. But I expected that. As for the rest of the park, the waits were short. Peter Pan was the standard hour and 7DMT was the standard 90 minutes but evey other ride in the park was less than 30 minutes. Loved it. Monorail is always crowded in the morning going to and at night leaving from the parks. And as far as the half day concept....I don't know what parks you are in, but we did a full day at Animal Kingdom today and will be going back for another 1/2 day to do more. We also did a full day Hollywood Studios. And those are with limited rides for a 6 year old. There is no half day park unless you are only experiencing 1/2 of what the park really has to offer.
