Tomorrowland Speedway needs a refurb

My vote goes with demo. An Indy Speedway cannot be seen as tomorrow or fantasy. Too much good land to be used on an out of place standard amusement park ride. We've been saying for years that MK needs a top dollar e-ticket. Where would be a better location than Fantasyland?

-It's a Disney Classic

-Kids love it, love it, love it.

That about says it all as far as keeping it, I think.

Yeah, could be fun to theme it up with road signs and landscaping
at this point, and I really wish they weren't gas powered. But I think
a little would go a long way with this one.

I had never ridden it before, my whole family did the last time we were
there, and we had great family fun with it. It's no E-Ticket, but it
does have its charms.

I don't consider our Speedway to be a classic at all. Why is it a classic? It's loud, ugly, has no theming what so ever, and is probably the hottest attraction known to man.

Now Autopia is a classic, but Speedway? No. Demo the thing and make a new E-ticket. To hell with the kids, the rest of MK is being taken over by them as it is.

Yeah !
A Luke Skywalker air car.

:)

Hovercraft? I'd like a retheme, but don't have a definitive idea. I'd like a driving ride of some kind continue, because -as other posters mentioned- teens get a kick out of driving before they are 16. Would def. need new vehicles and landscaping.

Nothing like a totally honest post.

A refurb? A demolition is what it needs. Sorry, it takes up too much space and if getting rid of it meant we got a nice D/E ticket for Tomorrowland, bring on the bulldozer. :)

Agreed. What could they replace it with....

MUCH better.

Oh and to whom asked:

"I'm an electric car, I don't go very fast, or very far..."

I was able to get this picture of the HK Autopia. What is the difference between WDW and the HK other than the landscape? Do the cars run on propane also?

Actually thats Disneylands Autopia, which is rumored to get electric cars once the Chevron sponsorship ends. It also still has the old colors of Tomorrowland's gold/bronze, teal, maroon instead of the newer white, silver, blue. There clucky and smell too.

but this is HKDL's!

Really though the Speedway at MK needs a refurb badly, it looks, smells and feels dated. not to metion really dirty looking. A refrub would do it some wonders and not a little refurb one on the scale the DL's got back in 2000- a new queue building, cars, track, and above all landscaping that dosnt look like an old park from the 70's nor a freeway. It should also lose the Speedway name and just be named Autopia. IMO the raceway themeing adds to its cheap-ness in look.
