The new sign looks great.

However, a new problem arose. The opening theater still shows the old gear sign. A sign ugly as sin, but at least there was design consistency with the gear outside, a consistency now lost.
When I rode it recently, I admired what they did with so little support from above. If they would just free up some bucks to do it right, the ride would be magnificent. Some observations...

Dad in scene 1 looks like he is wearing potato sacks for pants, and there are hints of the old goiter problem resurfcing.

Dad in scene 2 seems to have a completely different face than the others (or is he supposed to look that way)?

Scene 3 has some era-appropriate dishes in the dishwasher (instead of the 70s Pizza Hut red plastic glasses). However, when the dishwasher closes, it looks like its about to tip over.

Scene four sound quality has improved to the point where the differences in quality among the voices of the different characters show signs of the different eras in which they were recorded. But the "car phone" plus the modern TV screen makes it disjointed.

But all in all, a valiant effort to restore the attraction.

The amount of mold Buzz Lightyear has is absolutely not normal, including buildings in Florida (which is where I live currently). A properly sealed and climate controlled building will generally prevent this degree of buildup. Peter Pan's Flight for instance does not suffer from mold caked onto all the surfaces nor the musty/fungus scent that Buzz does.

The mold seen in Buzz was caused by the roof leaking. They apparently did fix the roof not long ago (I think I recall a permit for it during a recent refurb), but it was addressed too late to stop the ceiling/wall damage and mold growth. Thanks to a breakdown a few months ago causing the worklights to switch on, I was able to get an even clearer look at how extensive the drywall damage was (there's quite a bit, so they must not have been very proactive about the roof repairs). You can still spot this damage even under show lighting as well, though it is at least less visible.

The mold problem however is actually MORE visible under show lighting. Some varieties of mold will glow a bright white/purple color under dark light (mold inspectors even use dark lights to find mold that would be invisible under normal lighting). Since Buzz uses dark lighting throughout, the extent of the mold damage becomes even more glaring. With alarming amounts just caked all over the walls everywhere.

Ah ok i see off topic a little i heard that managers have told cast members at UOE there jobs end in january
Not to go off topic, but I'll believe the doors close when they actually do. A couple years ago, Imagination CMs were cross-trained because the pavilion was supposed to shut down until a viable refurb. It didn't happen.

On one hand, that's great because it would've been an empty pavilion like WoL. But it also killed an Imagination refurb that's been sitting on the sidelines for years.

Dreamfinder and Figment are a movie waiting to happen. Maybe if one DOES happen, their attraction will finally get a refurb.

For me, an Imagination refurb is good money thrown after bad. Just let it rot until the pavilion gets a complete overhaul. (Naturally, into Figment greatness again or we riot).

The Dreamfinder of the ride always looked like a weirdo to me, a bit of a creeper. Not movie material. The comic book Dreamfinder by contrast looks like he invented hipsterdom. Fashionably bearded before it became mainstream. Now these two could carry a movie. Or a new ride. Figment still begs to be EPCOT's mascotte.

And they still use him as such despite anyone under age 23 or so not having any memory of him having a marquis attraction.

Before the comics I always saw Dreamfinder as a Kenobi figure and a potential film focused more on Figment. In going for a younger Dreamfinder, the comics ended up bringing more possibilities to the table for a film, new ride and media franchise. To continue the Obi-Wan metaphor, a Ewan McGregor Dreamfinder has more potential for expansion versus the original Alec Guiness Dreamfinder.

I am glad they slowed things down on the last drop still though. .
Seriously? They ruined the best part. It's so lame now.

Both tracks need ripping out and replacing. As was the plan.

There's also a mountain of SQ issues that exist. No pun intended. I'd be happy to compile a list should one be needed, though I know it's still a work in progress.

How dare you call Dreamfinder a weirdo and creeper. He's like Miss Frizzle from The Magic School Bus that makes learning fun. Case in point the "Science Lab" section of the original attraction.

Wishful thinking, but I would love to see a first Disney Animated Film based on a Disney Attraction that won't suck that is based on the original attraction but using some elements from the comics and keeping the charm to the original.

My idea for the film would have Ron Schneider reprise his role as Dreamfinder when the film shows an older Dreamfinder most of the public is familiar with or during the opening narration.

Stop it.

It has good animatronics, a great score, and even a cool made up language that can be deciphered. Yet somehow it's an awful piece of crap. There is no defense for it.

Surely you're being extreme. The following dialogue is nothing short of award-winning material:

"Tubie-thingy"

"Stealing jelly doughnuts"

"I think I just oiled myself"

"Flor-EE-Duh"

"You're not my Prince! Bye!!!"

And those are just a quick sample of some of the Imagineer's best work.

And how about how they cleverly confuse the guest by blurring the line between what we know and what we SHOULD know? How Stitch is supposed to be treated as an unknown by the guest through the attraction, and guests are supposed to pretend we haven't heard his story? Brilliant.

And the best part... Stitch is phsyically in the room with us. 3-D and furry. Then he escapes, and he's animated, climbing the REAL Cindy's castle a few hundred yards away, during daylight (regardless of when you're on the attraction), interacting with an animated Cindy, even though any iteration of Cindy in the MK is as a real person.

How anyone claims this isn't head and shoulders above that low-brow alien thing that was there before it is a simpleton.
