It is fascinating, isn't it? Who knew people MINDING THEIR OWN BUSINESS and taking harmless pictures in front of a wall could cause such angst.

Yeah. I don't get it either. For me, there's a difference in someone saying 'I don't understand this but more power to them' but instead we get the usual millenial bashing and apparent disgust. Who cares that they're taking a selfie in front of a purple wall? lol

I think some people need to remember the weird stuff they did at the same age and how they were also judged by those who 'didn't understand'

EDIT: And for the record, I don't get the appeal at all and I'm with those who 'don't get it'. But I don't begrudge someone for living their life and doing what they want. I don't get the disgust.

1) People are unaware the purple wall exists and is a "thing"
2) Disney announces enhancements to a purple wall
3) People are now aware and will possibly participate in the "thing" and are now more likely to purchase new purple wall merchandise

Four freaking pages, and y'all are just feeding into the machine.

Yep, WDW has "Do Not Feed The Animals (Wildlife)" signs all over property, yet they don't mind anybody feeding The Mouse. :cautious: ;) :cautious:

They're not refurbishing because it's the purple Wall, they're refurbishing it anyway and people just noticed because it's the purple wall. Paint is supposed to start going up over all of Tomorrowland, this is just the easiest to get to.

Paint is a good start ... it'd be nice if they made an effort to replace Stitch .... I mean, the fact that any attraction or any restaurant at the MK is "seasonal" is a joke. Tomorrowland needs more than a paint job but it's a good start. Amazing this thread started in 2016 and we're still kind of waiting. They did the rocks and some other things which should have been kept up with to begin with. It's all a nice start and I'm not trying to be ungrateful but they sure waste a lot of time and money, IMHO.

Can they stop running the place like they're going out of business?

Baby steps, they have to start somewhere.

I think they know Stitch will be replaced, they are just hamstrung deciding what will replace it.

Still boggles my mind, even in @wdwmagic 's news image of the new paint going up, it's obvious that people have made this wall a "thing". Can't believe WDW hasn't found a way to monetize images taken of this wall.

They kind of have...they are selling merchandise for the purple wall...Magic bands, I am sure there will be a photo frame available soon as well....See how they amuse the masses without building an attraction? you don't even notice the new parking fees!

Well, Disney monetizing anything will be far less mind boggling as the number of images with the #purplewall or whatever on twitter and instagram. I'm old, I admit such things just won't ever make sense to me.

I know. It's a start. I appreciate the work that's been done and going to be done. I'm just choosing to be impatient today lol

It just feels like such a long time for Stitch and I just see it being a rerun of old, bad behavior. I know it will be replaced but it just seems a little ridiculous they haven't. Something could have already been open. It just seems cost saving for the sake of it.
