Tinkerbell Meet and Greet?

I think I will be great for a Meet & greet with Tink. I just find it funny about the whole size thing. Disney World is about magic and fantasy. Who cares how big she is, Nobody cares about the sizes of the other characters.:hammer: :p The whole point of WDW is when you walk through that gate you put all logic away. Or is it just me.:lookaroun  :p

Slightly OT....

&

FWIW - The CM at DL in the Tink shop inside the base of the Sleepy Beauty Castle informed us that the whole shop is about to be re-themed by September or so to include all of the fairies... To coincide with the new film/films.

So I know we're not supposed to believe the CM's, but this one had worked there quite a while, and was slightly saddened by the news she'd been told...

In fact she approached it as how fortunate my wife and I were to have seen it before the remodel/refurb...

So... Tink speaks, most likely - BECAUSE the fairies must be able to communicate - and we have to be able, as the audience, to understand them.

Simple concept to understand... it does no mean that non-fairies will understand them, or that Tink & Co. will speak to them...

And that concept of the "shrinking" to meer & greet her + temporarily gaining the ability to "speak fairy" is a pretty cool idea... and plausible enough... I think kids would especially love it.

I can imagine the questions she'd get... "Is it scary flying near all the fireworks? How high up is the castle?"

And at DL... "Do you get tired flying back and forth 3 times?"

Bring on Tink!

BTW- Anyone seen all the new Tink Merch at Wal-Mart in the automotive section?

Once again, you lose the battle...because your own link says this if you were to have kept reading it:

"DisneyToon still has several movies left on its slate. The revamped Tinker Bell movie is due in 2008, as is The Little Mermaid III. There will be three other Tinker Bell sequels, but after that DisneyToon will make DVD's that feature characters from Mickey's Clubhouse, My Pals Tigger and Pooh and Handy Manny."

It's not happening anytime soon, and I can guarantee that. Honestly, if everyone wants to keep bumping this thread, then i'll just keep my mouth shut and keep all of the TRUE Entertainment rumors to myself then. Sorry for trying to set the record straight.

SOUNDS GOOD TO ME:wave:  I dont think anyone really wants to listen to you anyway. Just because you work someplace for 3 whole years does not make you an expert. For your info, the person I was talking to was much higher up on the food chain (but I will refrain from throwing names around per his request) so I will trust his info and see if it comes to fruition.

Well, have fun twiddling your thumbs and visiting the Princesses and some of the VIP's in Toontown. Not Tinkerbell.

Oh honey, i'm not the all knowing one. I've just read the whole thread. But being in Walt Disney World Entertainment for 3 years kinda helps. Wouldn't you think?

Hey! I've been working for Disney for 3 years and I don't think 3 years of working for Disney gives me an inkling of what's really going on at Disney.

However, after coming to Disney for 27 years, I know a lot more. I think anyone that started working for Disney 3 years ago, whether it's in Entertainment, Guest Services, Management or any other position, doesn't give you the full picture of Disney.

The one word that any Cast Member should know and understand is the word "change". What you might hear as being the reality today might not be the reality of tomorrow.

Just because you heard that the Tinker Bell movie was cancelled might have been accurate for half an hour, three weeks ago, and that decision could've changed multiple times in any direction since then. Since you don't work in Animation nor Pixar nor in an executive office, you don't know for sure what's going on with that movie. It's always better to error on the side of caution than to stick your neck out and be wrong.

What's your thoughts?

True, change is possible. For example, the studios name change that is coming up. However, Entertainment Cast Members are the first to know about changes in Entertainment. You're right, length of time doesn't matter, but i've had too many experiences with people in different departments trying to say how Entertainment does their job or changes that might be happening. Then, that's how rumors get started, leading to threads like this.

Kat's usually right on the money. To the best of my knowledge, she's never posted anything that was inaccuate.

The Tinker Bell and fairy friends character meet-n-greet has all ready been announced to Disneyland Entertainment cast members. And if they're getting it, WDW will be getting it, probably before they do.

I can't believe this thread has gone on this long...you can say you don't believe it's happening over and over again, but in 2008, you'll be shocked I suppose when you're waiting in line to get a picture with Ms. Bell. If the Fairies are Disney's next huge marketing push, it only makes sense that they will have a live presence in the theme parks. To not do so would be silly and a loss of profits, something Disney never stops chasing.

I'm just curious how not having a meet and greet would cause a loss of profit.

Can't sell autograph books and PhotoPass pictures without character meet-n-greets.

You do realize that this is why the characters are still around, don't you? To sell. Their presence compels guests to buy ridiculously priced autograph books and ridiculously priced PhotoPass pictures. And if the Fairies are going to be a billion dollar franchise, then guests will definitely want to purchase that Disney Fairies autograph book and PhotoPass pictures with Tink, Rosetta, Iridessa and friends.

But just because Disneyland is getting something, doesn't neccesarily mean that Disney World will be getting it as well. For example, parades, parties, shows, etc.

I don't want to start a rumor, but I was talking with a friend today about this whole Tinkerbell thing. If anything, she said that they'll add another Princess room, and not a Tinkerbell one.

But, that's off topic.

I heard about this previously I want to say almost six months ago but I'm not so sure where though. Either way, I think that's awesome!

You clearly don't want to believe that Tink and friends will be in WDW next year. That's fine. I don't know why you're so dead set against it, but I can tell you with complete and total certainty that WDW is getting her as well. The Disney Fairies is a huge global marketing push for the company, and it will involve both US resorts. There's simply no reason for it not too...and who said they were going to be in Toontown Fair?

And parades and parties are different from meet-n-greet characters, and when it comes to the major ones, both resorts always get both. WDW always gets the more obscure ones as well since DLR doesn't seem very interested in broadening their character collection. WDW has Marie, Clarice, Barbossa, the new Tremaine and Stepsisters and many more characters that DLR either has never had or just stuck in storage until the end of time. So if any new characters are added to the parks, WDW always gets them while DLR is usually shafted.

So if anything, WDW should have the Fairies and it should be iffy for DLR, but it's not. It's a definite go-ahead for both resorts. From what I understand, Tink is being looked over right now to make sure everything is good with her new park duds. I'm not sure where Iridessa, Fawn, Silvermist and Rosetta are in their journeys to the parks, but Tink has certainly progressed quite nicely from what I'm told. It's just a long flight from Pixie Hollow all the way to Walt Disney World.

I'm not dead set against it, it's just that this has been a rumor since 2004 when I started in the company. Yes, I understand that the fairies are a huge marketing push for the company, but right now they just did a refurb in Toontown and who's still there? Princesses and VIP's. Believe me, I do believe that it will happen, just not anytime soon. And in the original post it says that they will be in Toontown.
