Tinkerbell Meet and Greet?

Kind of off topic but there has been some talk on this thread about Tink talking in her upcoming movie... and it is true, with her voice being played by Brittany Murphy.

STOP! Please Read!

Love the fake legs. Kinda funny they didn't try harder to make it no-so-noticeable.

First off, her legs are real. I am in WDW Entertainment, and all of that is real. Nothing fake.

Second, this has been a rumor since at least 2004. There will (as of right now) NOT be a room going into Toontown for a meet and Greet with Tink.

The movie HAS been scrapped due to the uproar over Tink talking.

If you want to see Tink, see her Fly before Wishes! or go to the Pirate/Princess Party to see her in the Parade :)

When we met Peter Pan I asked him how we could get Tinks autograph for my daughters book. He told me drop it off at guest relations and tell them Peter Pan sent ya..............Well, when we picked up the book Tink had singed it and there was even pixie dust inside. We didnt get to meet her, but we did get her autograph..........To me this seemed more magical then actually meeting her.

This is where I read that it was scrapped...
http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=196014&highlight=Tinkerbell+movie

This says that Iger and Lasseter decided to scap it along with the $30 million of it's animation.

The person in that other thread misinterpreted what Jim Hill's article said. No where in the article does it say the Tinkerbell movie was scrapped, just $30 million dollars worth of animation. The article specifically states that the end to direct-to-video movies is an end to new development of said films. The ones already being produced will be finished. This includes Tinkerbell.

Later in the Jim Hill article it even says the following:
Jim Hill said:
Oh, sure. There are still a few high profile productions like "The Little Mermaid 3" yet to be burned off. As well as "The Tinkerbell Movie" (along with that trio of sequels that are also supposed to support the "Disney Fairies" franchise) that have yet to be completed & released.

If the movie truly has been canceled, it has yet to be announced anywhere that I've read.

I know I'll get a lot of flack for this, but i don't like Tink. I won't go and say hate, for fear of what would happen to me, but I don't like her. I went through the whole little girl thing not liking her, and at 19, still the same feelings. But I think its just out of jealousy. The movie is called Peter Pan, and he's been getting a little more credit lately, but do you know how hard it is to find some piece of merchandise with Peter Pan on it? It's all Tink stuff. And my working at the Disney Store doesn't help. An entire Tink section, and in the 2 years I've worked there, one Peter Pan mug. That's it. Oh well....

As for a meet and greet, despite my feelings, it would be a huge success with the little girls. And I have to admit, the idea of them shrinking you seems pretty cool.

I think there is alot of money to be made in these faires and thats why I can see it happening.

It may not get as big as the "Princess Franchise" but you can imagine all the tie-ins that could be done, from movie, merchandise (there is already alot of Tink stuff so someone must be buying) and then a meet and greet "Fairy House" where everything is BIG so you feel small.
A small niche could be carved out in several areas as mentioned, although doing something in the Skyway station area seems to be perfect placement. I could also see something in all that area still left over near Pooh's Playground.

By the way are there any other "face" characters that dont talk??? I think that is my only issue with the whole thing. I hate the idea of "changing" Tinks character to talking just to capitalize on a new marketing idea or movie.

I would love a Meet and Greet with Tinkerbell! She is my favorite (duh).

Until it is confirmed though I am def. going to track down Peter Pan and then go to the guest relations and leave my book to get the autograph from Tink, that is a great idea. So glad I found out about it before my trip in November.

And I agree, soooooo adorable! :animwink: Once again, Disney...making the magic happen.

Guest Relations is at City Hall in the Magic Kingdom.

GR is just inside on the left at the very front of every park. At least in this country. :)

My friend is going to try out for tink, you have to be under 100 lbs and apparently, the current tink at the disney parks is a grandma..:hammer:

Princess

I used to see "Tink" all the time when I worked in T-Land. She was nice, extremely small. And yes as you said, a little older than you would think. It's amazing how much they do for her flight. One of my friends was her costume person and she would go up into the castle with Tink for her flight.

I would love to be the meet-and-greet Tinker Bell. I am 4'11" and weigh 93 pounds and look very much like a little girl, despite being 21 years old. I think I'd be a perfect fit. :)

It's been a long time since I've been able to say "I've never heard that before" in regard to Disney parks item, but you win the prize. While I'm far removed from the autograph route, that is a really nice touch to know about.
Thanks!

I was talking to a cm last week and he told me that they are going to do Tinkerbell meet & greets along with some of the other fairys next year when the Tink movie comes out. I think it would be hard to cast but really cool! Can you imagine the lines to meet Tink??

We've pretty much established in the past 4 pages that they're not doing a meet and greet with Tink. Topic closed.

oh, sorry I did not realize you were the all knowing one.. As far as I can tell, YOU are the only one who has 'established that they are not doing a meet and greet with Tink" I will refrain from disagreeing with you in the future. Topic closed, everyone, the all knowing one has spoken!
