I'm a bit iffy on the Louis AA being 7 feet tall (he still takes up a lot of space due to his girth and tail, so perhaps they're including the tail length in the measurement or something). At least if the 3D model in the leaked renders are at the correct scale, he appears considerably shorter. You can sort of compare it next to Tiana's model and the surrounding environment. Unless those are also much larger than they appear too.

But granted, these models may not actually be at their accurate scale in the first place. Especially given the very WIP nature of these renders.

Other than that's he's absolutely going to be a very complex and intricate figure with a lot of axes of motion. And yes should physically appear multiple times throughout the ride.
Tall animatronics are nothing new. This Br'er Bear was around 6' tall (My friend got evac'd next to him and was the same height, he's 6'2'. Throw in Br'er Fox and the entire set of characters was probably around 10ft

So the idea of a 7' Louie isn't that unthinkable

Here's photos from today - unfortunately I was not using my brain and forgot today is Good Friday so the site was dead with no testing. I went specifically to try to get videos of Charita Carter riding again but no luck.

The queue is looking very close to being done in recent days - lots of plants installed and walkways are looking clean. We should be seeing the infrastructure for the radio show going in soon and audio testing starting shortly after.

Besides that, scaffolding has, once again, gone back up on the left side, there are new marks on the structure at the top of the drop, and some additional theming added to the new walkways.

At around 6pm tonight (during the cavalcade) they were doing some testing. Did not see anyone riding it but empty logs were coming down for about 5-10 mins.

Yeah, I know that. Brer Bear is also clearly quite tall too, even without evac'ing. As he should be, he's the largest character in the SOTS shorts too and towers over Brer Fox.

It wasn't my intention to claim that there would be any sort of problem with making a 7ft Louis AA. I was just pointing out that the leaked render threw me off because he does not look that tall when placed in that structure next to the Tiana model. But again, there's no telling whether the character models in that render were scaled accurately yet. I sort of suspect these particular two may not have been. They're also still in the t-pose position, so it's a possibility these images were snapped prior to scale adjustments.

Louis IS supposed to be significantly taller than a regular human, so he should indeed be a larger figure than the rest. Hopefully that is taken into account in the final ride-

every time I see a photo of those bottles hanging above the top of the drop hill, I ask myself 'has Disney gone too far w/ this "nothing over the ride path" idea?'

What do you mean by “nothing over the ride path”?
Disney has been really pushing new ride envelope safety measures to operations cast as of late. Anything that could be in the ride envelope (or fall into it from above) has been severely scaled back across the parks. I'm assuming this extends to Imagineering so they don't build sets/effects above the envelop that will just inevitably be turned off for liability. I have a theory that they'll remove the Test Track crash doors in the new refurb because of this, but that's just speculation.

The Tiana animatronic looked fairly tall in the video they shared. Granted, she was on some sort of platform. But even without, I could see her being close to 6 feet tall.

The Test Track crash doors have been static and open on the ~6-8 rides I've experienced over my last three trips (July 2023, December 2023 and March 2024.)
One time when I rode test track before we ”launched“ though the doors we heard them opening and closing rapidly.
