Yeah, referencing alcohol is really not an issue. It being terribly cheap and under designed is another thing. What do we think muskrat moonshine was?
They either get excoriated for reusing things (why so cheap?!) or they get blamed for outrageous costs on new attractions. Can't have it both ways.Turns out the boxes and crates are reused from Splash’s queue

Is that why they don’t go all the way across the top like the model?
They were tacky before and they’re tacky now. Only difference is that nobody ever noticed them because they were in-between the fun looking sign post, and the fun looking wood carving statue. Allegedly there’s a statue coming, so we will see.The crates look far less Tiana-specific and more like general Frontierland placemaking.
At first glance I thought they were crates from the Tom Sawyer Island dock.
Indeed. It's cargo for the Frontierland train, isn't it?The crates look far less Tiana-specific and more like general Frontierland placemaking.

But if you were magically transported back to Frontierland wouldn't the labels be fresh?Indeed. It's cargo for the Frontierland train, isn't it?
The stencilled labels seem a bit bright for me, but if the idea is that they are supposed to fade in the sun I am ok with it. Overall, not sure why people would be upset with some extra placemaking as part of the reworking of the area around the train station. If anything, it suggests they want to keep the area in front of the tracks more or less a continuous expanse of Frontierland rather than a small New Orleans area. Would make sense, then, if the section of the hill/salt dome next to the station doesn't get the full mossy makeover.
I guess you're right, and some already look a little scratched up.But if you were magically transported back to Frontierland wouldn't the labels be fresh?
I tell you those imagineers don't miss a trick.....
The way I see it is Disney trying to keep the BTM side of the train station Frontierland, while keeping the far side more New Orleans-like.I guess you're right, and some already look a little scratched up.
Always best to see these things in context, anyway. Sometimes when you see close up pictures of things like this they just scream "theming!" a lot more than when you seen when walking by as intended!

So they needed some musical talent for the party? Well, if there's one thing we know New Orleans is short on, it's musicians capable of playing jazz! Better go into the bayou to find some animal scraping an old license plate instead! So the missing ingredient is musical critters for her party?
In the bayou, Princess Tiana is getting ready to throw a big party, but there’s been a bit of a mix-up between Prince Naveen and Louis. Uh oh — the princess suddenly finds herself in need of a band. We previously shared that all-new Disney characters were being created for this attraction and that’s where the critters come in. Even with the richest roux for your gumbo and the most delicious beignets, a true Mardi Gras celebration isn’t complete without music. We’ll follow Tiana and Louis into the bayou in a last-minute search for this essential missing ingredient for her party — musical critters!
Maybe the originally booked band cancelled at last minute? Or Tiana simply forgot to hire them? Kidnapped by Facilier? Admittedly, it is a pretty weak plot point. So they needed some musical talent for the party? Well, if there's one thing we know New Orleans is short on, it's musicians capable of playing jazz! Isn't Louis‘s whole thing is that he’s an amazing jazz musician? I get that we aren’t supposed to look that deep into theme park attraction plots as there are lots of holes. It is however, fun to poke holes.Maybe the originally booked band cancelled at last minute? Or Tiana simply forgot to hire them? Kidnapped by Facilier? Admittedly, it is a pretty weak plot point.
I thought the bar was for sure happening. Hopefully it’s still on the books.Interesting they'd advertise whiskey in a (mostly) dry park. I wonder if this means that pirates bar is moving forward?
Did the millhouse always have that much greenery or is that new?
