If @Drew the Disney Dude is correct about Dig a Little Deeper in the lift hill then we know this inaccurate.

Dig a little deeper (great abbreviation by the way) is a longer song and would build anticipation for the drop. It could really go both ways. Like I said before, I’m pretty sure that Splash Archives track listing is inaccurate if @Drew the Disney Dude is correct. It could really go either way. They could also just repeat the song in the finale. If they played it though for the entire Laughin Place and hill then that maybe too much.

After what I heard last night, I expect Dig a Little Deeper to start at some point in the former Laughing Place area, and then will lead into the lift and on the lift itself, which lines up with what a lot of us have speculated for over a year now with the bottle lanterns on the drop and concept art. The fact that I could barely hear the song confirms it's playing at the base of the lift during these test rides, so it's entirely possible we will see the Mama Odie animatronic there where Br'er Fox and Br'er Rabbit were previously.

In terms of PJ Morton's original song, it's already been confirmed to be on the ride, as Disney talked about designing a song where logs enter the scene every 15 seconds, and I can't see any other place for it than the finale, and when I say finale, I'm talking about where the riverboat was. I don't see them spending a year writing an original song for an original story and not using it in the giant Mardi Gras party finale scene with every character and critter - it makes too much sense for it not to happen.

Are they keeping the weird temporary fence leading into the mill? They painted stuff on it, but I can't imagine why there would be a random fence jutting out of the structure like that.
It was added when Splash was open to protect the evacuation path on the other side from the full splash of the water cannons that would go off when logs plunged.

It seems to have been added between 2004-2005. It's a shame too as it's an eyesore and the ride looked way better without it. The slapped on mural actually made it even worse though IMO. It's interesting that the conceptual render of TBA for WDW lacked this fence.

If the purpose behind the fence is to protect this area from the cannon splash, then I wonder if the fence remaining intact also effectively confirms that the cannons will be retained and used in TBA as well.

Personally, i've never liked those cannons and always viewed them as a cheap and artificial drench machine. They turn the pressure way down in the colder seasons so you don't get hit by them, and I prefer them like that. The cannons at Tokyo don't seem to hit passing guests. I wish they'd keep the cannons on the lower setting and demolish that fence.

Weird. Disneyland never needed to add a weird fence to their Splash.

You'd think they could come up with something better than a random fence right against the flume that blocks the view of the water wheel.

I've heard rumors of a tentative media event around the second week of June, and that the attraction might be open prior to the event. That puts Memorial Day (May 27) within the realm of possibility.
Conspiracies online point to June 10. New Communicore hall and Encanto show at Epcot. New meet and greets at HS and AK that day. Thought to try to drive crowds from the mess that could be MK that day.

My reading of the tea leaves (sponsored by Twinings in Epcot) is that it will open as soon as it's ready and will not wait for a specific special day.

Unless, they do soft opening as soon as its ready and chose a special day for the "official opening" ceremony.

if we are indeed turned to frogs, the tension would be not getting stuck that way to be resolved by mama odie saving us and being brought back to humans with a big splash.

EDIT: and if we are frogs, how'd we get that way. did she shrink us only to save us? or could it be a darker source?
