From the site we don't say - Repainting of the rock has begun. It looks like a different shade of brown/orange than the other side of the mountain.

Not sure how I feel about that color. It looks like a giant ant hill.
I like to call it "pink salt"It's rather similar to the color of Big Thunder, isn't it?
Painting the mountain that color isn't going to make it look "New Orleans-y".
Wait until we hang all the beads on it!!Painting the mountain that color isn't going to make it look "New Orleans-y".
Isn't that the Himalayas? I thought that was in AK?I like to call it "pink salt"

Removing the red dirt of Splash Mountain (aka Georgia Red Clay) for a soil color more suitable to New Orleans and Louisiana will make it more "New Orleans-y" and is part of the theming of Splash Mountain, and once changed will contribute to TBA's theming.Perhaps the color is due to weather that’ll be on it 24/7 and will change or alter slightly?
It's always looked that way to meNot sure how I feel about that color. It looks like a giant ant hill.
I didn't know they let Moley move back into WDW after they closed his ride down. They're making a mole hill out of a mountain.
The American Parks used to mention SotS before the announcement of the retheme in the park maps. Heck till the day WDW version closed SotS was mentioned if you clicked on the pictures on the website.I find it really funny that the Australian site for Disneyland straight up namedrops the film these incarnations of the characters originate from:
Splash Mountain | Rides & Attractions | Disneyland Park | Disneyland Resort
Embark on a rollicking log flume ride featuring characters and songs from the classic Disney film Song of the South at Splash Mountain in Disneyland Park.disneyparks.disney.go.com
Probably one of the rare mentions of SotS in these times.
