If I had to guess, that would be earlier in the attraction when we first plunge into the bayou (the indoor portion), but I have no clue.

What they have showed (which is obviously a small part of the attraction) looks amazing and the finale looks even more full of set pieces and animatronics (maybe around the same number but now way more have a ton of movement)
Always loved Splash as a ride but and very excited for this change - looks like taking a great ride system and plussing it and making it more relevant to more people

Was the disowned part of the rumor the shrinking part altogether or just the giant Louis part?

The section that was formerly the “Laughin’ Place” sequence — there’s a drop into that section that then coasts for a second before a small second dip. The laser/mist effect is during that coasting section.

To be honest, I'm pretty sure Naveen got cut from the adventure and will only be joining us in the finale, which is really sad. If he's in the scene in the boat, it wouldn't make sense for him to be missing from the rest of the bayou adventure. Seeing as how it's only Tiana and Louis in many of the scenes together, I'd imagine they opted to cut multiple Naveen appearances. One of the big points of the movie is that they're better together than they are apart, so I hope he has a bigger role in the ride.

First impressions.
The environment scenery is overall quite pretty. I'm not spotting any instances where they just left structural areas exposed and blank walls. This was one of my biggest problems with attractions such as Little Mermaid, Frozen Ever After, Mickey etc. Lighting looks nice as well, at least after you get past the initial Slippin Falls drop daylight spillage. I also liked one little detail they added to compensate for the fact that WDW's version has less water-filled show scenes around the beginning- it looks like the floor around the intitial Tiana and critter band was given a glossy overlay to make it appear like it's filled with water. Not a bad little touch.
Negatives are that the few instances of video projection used for characters are extremely poor. The giant Tiana and Louis heads in the shrunken parts are really awkward and look stupid IMO. Not a fan of this being used to fill out the windows in the finale either. The "effects based" projections on the backgrounds such as fireflies and such seem to look good though.
While I appreciate that the finale scene is more filled out with physical characters than expected, it looks like Big Daddy and Naveen's parents got the video screen treatment and aren't physical figures. Shame. And most of the critter characters are indeed limited motion and have nowhere near the range of motion of many of their predecessors. The quality of their exteriors are at least much better than Mermaid, but still sad that they have so little motion. I'd have hoped at least the larger critters such as the bears, bobcats and giant frogs would have a greater range, but unfortunately they don't seem to have it either.
The new song is decent, not great and not bad. At least it sounds appropriate to the time period though and doesn't seem to mix in modern instrumentation. But it doesn't hold a candle to you-know-what that came before it.
I think it's mostly a downgrade from what it replaced. It's not nearly as much of one as some other replacements we've seen IMO. I think it's far better than Frozen Ever After for instance, and infinitely better than Mickey or any of the Future World replacements. On its own merits ignoring what came before, it's really quite good. But given that it's a replacement of a ride that easily stood strong among the best of the best, it's impossible not to compare it. And it indeed just doesn't compare.

I'm not nearly as crazy about Shanghai's Pirates as some other people are. I think the original over at Disneyland (and also the updated Paris variant) are still unmatched. At the very least though, Shanghai's can better stand on its own because it was a completely new thing and not a gut/replacement for an existing ride.
I don't know if it WAS ever retracted. Someone claimed it was and then never gave a followup source when asked for it.
That's is indeed accurate to the amount of legitimate AA's in the original. Disneyland had a larger amount at 26. Unfortunately it appears that most of the critters in Tiana's finale are limited motion and I wouldn't classify those as genuine AA's since they're far less articulated than what came before.

This looks very good! Truly impressive animatronics and the lighting looks cool, even considering it’s not full show lighting due to filming this segment. I’m most surprised by how they’ve seemingly taken good advantage of the epilogue area after the big finale.

Incidentally, I'd be curious whether the scene with Naveen in the boat shows up in the Disneyland variant. Splash Archive claimed that Naveen in the boat would be located in the old Laughing Place scene after the dip drop. Stating that the boat that was previously occupied by the dog there would be repurposed for that scene. This boat and dog never existed at WDW for the record. It also brings into question whether DL will also use this space for the shrinking plotline, or if they intend to do something different there.
Dunno. You had to pay for her rumors and I wasn't about to.
I feel like a "You made it" or "Welcome to the Party" would be more apropos. Tiana sure likes wordy banners.

I don't think the screens work anywhere near as well as they do on NRJ (which has the best use of screens for background enhancement that I've seen on any attraction) based on the video. I think that's because of both staging around the screens and what is actually displayed on them in Tiana.
Regardless, the finale looks quite good overall.

I'm at least grateful that the fonts look much better there than the other signs. Plus it's the one place where a banner works fine, unlike any of the others. I won't complain too much about that. The others still look horrible.
What's B-mode Na'vi doing in the Tiana thread?

I think it's something like this. There's a projector that's angled on the "flat" part of the drop that makes it look like you're inside the projected tunnel. Then when you exit that short flat section and drop further, you disappear from the mist.
