This sounds like an even farther departure than Batuu was. Atleast Batuu's markets feel like they were ripped from Phantom Menace & parts of Rise/Falcon are ripped straight from the movies.

This salt mine stuff wasn't even hinted at in PATF. Maybe the bayou sections will make things seem more familiar.
I can’t wait for people to ask how this is connected to PATF and they’re told, “this isn’t for you.”

They have half a season of a show that may not last on Disney Plus to explain it.

The only hope at this point is that Disney's financial belt tightening doesn't affect this project's budget. One would think they've got it locked in, but they have cut attraction budgets in the middle of construction before.
It will. But it has a bit more insulation than a project typically would during these times.

The more I think about it…the new ride should have been Brother Bear.

Talking animals ✅
Actual mountains and waterfall scenes ✅
Takes place in the North American frontier, thus keeping with the “Frontierland” theme. ✅

Added bonus “Brer” is just the southern dialect of “Brother”. So there was already “Brother Bear” in there from the get go.

It also provides minority representation for Native Americans (and doesn't come with the same sort of baggage Pocahontas does, or even PATF).

But, you know, flop and all...

Brother Bear had a box office take of $250M, against a $46M budget.
Gross profit of $204M.

For comparison, PatF’s take was $271M with a $105M budget.
Gross profit? $166M.

But sadly, that’s not what counts anymore.

Yeah but who cares about Brother Bear now?

I'm pretty sure that's the entire point of this exercise. Kids & families like Tiana now, and she'll sell merch. Nobody buys Brother Bear merch.
