Is it really supposed to be forced perspective to begin with?

They're not trying to make that hill look like a mountain, are they?

We all agree there are no ""mountains"" in the NOLA area. It seems this hill is the size of the hill it needs to be and the water tower is the size of a water tower (esp. one from the early 20th century).
So it looks ok or na?

So what are the chances they forget about the weather vane? It seems like a detail that they would forget or not care about.

According to one of the big DL Vloggers on the day of closing: they might keep the Weather Vane. Who knows if that changed on a dime if some DEI exec got wind of it.

I didn't think this project would make me head desk much more, but reading Floyd Norman's Facebook Post about the Disrespect Disney has shown his work (calling his Br'er Rabbit comics problematic), the force of whiplash sent me back to 1985.

I'm interested in seeing these. Can you share them?

What happened to them painting the barn yellow? Weren't they testing paints on it?
Why would they make it yellow? Tiana's primary colors are different shades of green, if anything that'd make more sense than sunny yellow.

I mean, yellow is one of the primary colors of the movie…

OK. So, yeah . . .

Looking at the pictures can't ya just see how the area looks more and more like the Vieux Carre every day? Especially the big hill in Jackson Square?

<sigh>

Can we just say the thematic consistency here will be strained at best?
On what grounds? It's so far from done, and we hardly know what purpose any of the individual known pieces will serve in the whole. Let alone how they plan (or don't) to make thematic sense of it.

I'm usually not one to say wait and see, but Disney's still holding most of their cards with this one, so I think we gotta hang in a bit longer. People are leaping to illogical conclusions and then getting themselves worked up about their own bad ideas. At its best it's exasperating.

So far we have no evidence that this will be any more thematically inconsistent than Splash, and nobody got worked up about that.

Disney has a habit of putting Easter Eggs of past attractions (allegedly there are references to Catastrophe Canyon and Lights Motors Action hidden in Galaxys Edge)...so maybe they'll keep Brer Rabbit's weather vane around as part of that.
Don't know about Catastrophe Canyon but here's the LMA tribute. On a speeder hanging on the wall somewhere, the Aurebesh letters spell out LMA and the tachometer is a clear replication. See below:
