Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

And does anyone else have a hunch that Critter Country becomes part of New Orleans Square?

The whole land? That’s not happening. Pooh or Hungry Bear restaurant aren’t going in NOS. The most I can see them doing is saying Tiana Mountain is part of NOS creating a really awkward border of land between it and Pooh/ Hungry Bear.

I’d like to think that the choice to put Tiana’s Palace at French Market instead of Hungry Bear means that they have the intent of preserving the rustic woodsy theme going at Critter County. Of course that choice could have been made because of the amount of work it would have taken to convert Hungry Bear or the fact that it would be replacing a popular restaurant as well as completely changing the ambiance of said restaurant.

Nah, it’s definitely closing this weekend ;)
If that's the case, then unlike with WDW, Disneyland guests would have almost no time at all to get in "one last ride" before it is shut down. And if you thought the fans were sad/mad to see it go in Florida with the time they had left, that would be almost nothing compared to how they would feel being taken by surprise.

But let's say it is closing in May. That would barely give the Imagineers enough time to overhaul the ride properly, because I'm guessing that both versions will be opening around the same time. Unless maybe WDW's version opens first, say, in the summer, while Disneyland's version opens around, say, Christmas.

On a somewhat (but not entirely) unrelated matter, I'm pretty sure I'm not going to like the answer I will receive, but I must know: we know that they removed "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" from the music loop outside the park, but did they remove it from the King Arthur Carrousel? I know they used to play it at least.

The WDW Railroad Narration has already been updated to reflect Splash's closure, and it specifically mentions that "new Critters are moving in looking to make a splash" . . . if even WDW is playing up the Critter angle then I'd guess talk of Disneyland "moving" the ride to New Orleans Square has probably been overstated.

Yes
Why couldn't they just rethemed Splash Mountain to Country Bears (not the 2002 film)? It would've allowed Disneyland's Country Bear Jamboree to come back in some form.

So does this mean they plan on getting rid of it at MK?
It honestly wouldn’t surprise me long term. If there’s a plan to develop a surrounding mini-NOS eventually as a logical outgrowth of Tiana I could see it being valuable F&B or merchandise space in the eyes of TDO.

But I do think they’d probably start with Pecos Bill’s as low hanging fruit first.
