One would be a fool if you think Disney never thought "Maybe a character who is black and a dark magic con man" is not the best move never crossed their minds. No one is saying it is the only reason, but the company has shown a reputation for removing antagonistic black characters from the parks to avoid the issue altogether.

Again, there is a committee for this.

It is not a hyper focus to be shocked if the main villain, and a really successful marketable one, is not going to be represented in the attraction.
What antagonistic black characters?

It proves my point: there are no black Disney antagonist characters lol. There’s one. That you mentioned the Africans in JC was genuinely funny to me, hence the “lol.”

if we can't have headhunters because they happen to be black, than I don't think we are going to get a voodoo con artist who happens to be black with ease.
Shocking that the same.committie may have qualms with it I know.

You’re just making things up honestly. As stated, he’s already a very popular walk around/meet&greet character. He’s banned from no where except a new storyline that continues after his death. Trolling attempted but denied!

Not trolling. The inconsistency is all.over the company. Remember they planned for awhile and removed headhunters and trader Sam, guess what characters were represented in the film, and arguably worse.

That was close, I almost valued your attempted invalidate my thoughts.

If the ride were going to be a direct retell of PatF, I have no doubt Facilier would be in it. So it's nowhere near the reason the headhunters got cut

In theory they could have done a true book report ride with Tiana as the Narrator she's human on one side of the flume then the frog version appears during show scenes on the other while she's describing the events. But honestly that seems very clunky.
I'm not a fan of the food co-op idea but we shall see maybe it'll blow our expectations out of the water.
I wince every time I see “Food co-op” in the ride description. What a thrilling, whimsical plot element for a log flume ride. It makes it sound like “Listen to the Land… Now with drops!”

How many Disneyland guests actually know what a Food Co-op is?

Actually, though, if they DID make it a Listen To The Land edutainment ride explaining how Food Co-Ops work, and just let the drops happen with zero explanation or context, and have the narration continue as if nothing’s happening as you plummet… That would be the greatest ride in theme park history. 😃

That is fair. Just to note I never stated THE reason no Facilier would be in it, it was pointing out the odd situation that some cannot fathom that would ever be a concern. With the current climate, it certainly is. Like everything, there are many factors. That is where the headhunter situation came in. Remember the group up the tree were also reviewed and changed. When there is a comittee reviewing, their job would be to review it.

I cringe every time I hear "Kingdom" and the language of royalty. I'm not one for totalitarian monarchies where the subjects are, in effect, slaves to the royals.

It's kinda nice to hear the language of the people and the power of the community in the form of a co-op!

I used the laughing emoji in my “like” but juuuuust in case you were being serious, I mean no offense. But…we’re talking about a log flume ride based on an adaptation of a Grimm’s Fairy tale situated between a haunted house full of dead murderers and the sad remains of a talking bear music hall that’s now full of cheap Pooh. All in the shadow of a castle that’s the symbol of magical enchanted wish dreams of wonderment in a land started by a talking mouse.

The food co-op backstory sounds like it was chosen by someone who has no idea that it’s for a drop-laden log flume ride, previously occupied by a singing bunny. If it was for an Epcot edutainment ride? Absolutely.

Hey, I’m open to it. Let’s see how it turns out. After all, nothing screams Star Wars Fun like trade routes. 😃

I for one want to know how Tiana is providing insurance for all her employees there better be a Song about that. Actually that's the drop it's symbolizing the stock market losing all of her employees 401ks.

The food co-op seems years ahead of the events of the story. I think they started in the 1960s, decades after the timeline of PatF.

They started much earlier than that, though I agree it seems anachronistic to someone who doesn’t know this history (which I didn’t before looking it up):
