Anyone else notice that in the Disney Parks Blog post from this morning, they mention "At Disneyland park, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be in New Orleans Square, which allows for the opportunity to tell even more Tiana stories."

Sounds like confirmation that Tiana Splash Mountain is being absorbed into NOS. Wonder what this means for the remainder of Critter Country...

I'm not digging the crown on the water tower. It's tacky. It also doesn't fit Tiana's character to advertise her company with a crown. That just smacks of Disney trying to make sure you understand this is a Princess ride. Maybe I'm just cranky... haha
I was so stuck on the "Tiana's Food" nonsense, I didn't even seeee the crown! o_O:eek:😭🤣🤢

Probably nothing. At least I hope. They ll just be some awkward border between the “lands.” Unless they moved the entrance for Splash which is impossible.

"The new Splash Mountain backstory finds the restaurateur-turned-princess opening Tiana’s Foods following the success of Tiana’s Palace restaurant in the 2009 “Princess and the Frog” animated film.

According to the backstory, the employee-owned food cooperative is housed inside the aging salt mine within the former Splash Mountain with growers planting crops along the waterway that flows around the famed mountain peak.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure riders will ascend the lift hill through a mill house built into the side of the mountain powered by water troughs feeding a spinning water wheel.

Musical critters seen in the show scenes of the revamped log flume attraction will include an otter audio-animatronic playing a fiddle made from a tin can, tree bark and fishing line.

Magical lighting effects triggered by the film’s voodoo priestess Mama Odie will fill the hilltop cavern with glowing colors just before riders descend the log ride’s dramatic drop.

Tiana’s Splash Mountain land grab at Disneyland is expected to force the annexation of the Critter Country attraction into neighboring New Orleans Square."

Lots of awfulness buried in there but the absolute worst is not having the final lift be "Friends on the Other Side."

Well technically it still could be and Mama Odie could save the stay at the very top of the lift hill. That was the Jim Hill rumor anyway. But I agree not looking good. There still could be some of the “other side” stuff during the Laughing Place segments too.

So lets see:

Removing the tree makes sense given the story line they're using. This also answers the "no mountains in New Orleans" question, which I'm ok with.

Called it on the no use of "Friends from the other side", as its suppose to take place after the movie. Remains to be seen if Faclier shows up or not, but as I predicted before it wouldn't make sense for him to be there so still predict he won't be used. And this leads into the other Jim Hill rumor, Louis searching for his trumpet, when are we just going to stop listening to his guy and freaking out over things he "reports". Its clear that if that was ever a consideration it was VERY early days and not final concept.

Overall I'm ok with the story line overall, makes sense given the character and the nods to the region.

So looks like a majority of the AAs should stay, maybe some screens added for background, but with the inclusion of the 16+ new characters shows they still care about AAs in domestic parks.

I'm hoping the new Otter AA is an homage to these guys:

Yeah, I am out.

Mental gymnastics. And Sorry what’s a Food Cooperative? Maybe I’m stupid.
