Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Some people actually believe he alone convinced Disney to remove Splash Mountain. LOL.
Yeah. People who think this are crazy.

Disney had concept art already made (not anything beyond the artwork though), it's not like an artist could make that in a week, it takes a lot of time, work, and red tape to make painted concept art.

I remember @TP2000 mentioned that Disney had artwork made for a number of potential Splash Mountain concepts in 2019, and during the public news of the Chambers campaign they decided to piggy back off the news as a time to announce a retheme (despite no actual design work having been started).

We all know Disney doesn't listen to their fans for what ride to make next. It's all a coincidence.

I guarantee they have a list and / or concepts of replacements for every ride.

However, I honestly believe that had the protests not happened (of which I participated in), this thread would not exist.

What likely happened was Disney had several conceptual drawings of potential Splash Mountain rethemes. Then, amid the George Floyd protests and Frederick Chamber's tweet about PatF going viral, Disney saw that the Tiana option would likely be the most popular received of their various potential concepts, and decided to move forward with that option.

Call me crazy, but I'm still skeptical on the "this was in the works for a year" thing. If nothing else, it's possible the idea was suggested before people started demanding Disney retheme the ride, but I think said demands are what caused Disney to greenlight it.

Yes I agree with you. The piece of concept art seems to be all they had. They announced this thing way too early.

He was also a massive jerk on Twitter
Which is so weird because this person, who has taken an issue that pertains BIPOC and put themselves at the center of it (and everybody is okay with this? LOL) works for The Mouse. How could someone talk open trash about their employer online, let alone the Great Rodent Overlord, and still have a job?

Yeah, it's odd how you can bad mouth your employer have a media frenzy around it. While still staying employed by said employer, at the very least I expect his coworkers didn't appreciate the attention.
