As long as the retheme is given the proper budget, it should work really well. Chapek going cheap on the budget is my only concern. When I watched the Princess and the Frog last summer I couldn't help but think of Splash Mountain when watching the "Going to Take You There" song.
Although I will miss Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah (which is incomparably more iconic and catchy than any of the songs in PatF), overall I think The Princess and the Frog is MUCH better suited for a log flume ride than Song of the South ever was. Come to think of it, I don't even think there was water featured at all during the animated segments of Song of the South (other than an extremely brief scene where Brer Frog and Uncle Remus go fishing).
Let's hope Chapek realizes that spending the money on a proper retheme is necessary to ensure that the ride has the longevity to last another 30 years.

I don't even trust WDI even if Chapek gave them a "big budget". WDI spent 150 million dollars on Pixar Pier and I have no idea how some paint, plastic figures, and red tubes cost that much.
Either they manage their budget poorly or someone has to be laundering money.
I think the entire construction of California Adventure took less time than Galaxy's Edge.

Well that makes sense, California Adventure was a lot of basic structures while Galaxy’s Edge has a lot of detail. I don’t think that’s surprising at all.

Weirdly, there was somebody on Twitter that did their own fanboy Princess and the Frog overlay with artwork right before the announcement. I wonder if this is what's floating around.
