Well, things did not turn the way we wanted.
Daisy Marie (Straub) Guest passed away at around 8 am this morning. She was 82.
So sorry to hear about the loss of your grandmother. Your family will remain in my prayers through this tough time.
If you need anyone to talk to or anything, feel free to pm me or something. I'm always willing to listen and I sorta know what you're going through. I lost my grandmother 2 years ago to cancer leaving my grandfather (they'd been married for almost 55 years, she passed about 2 weeks before their anniversary) without much will to live for awhile. He's doing okay now though.

We're very sorry for your loss. I hope your grandfather is able to take the news ok.........52 years together is an incredible achievement.

My dad and his sister were worried how my grandfater would take the news, so we had a nurse and chaplin there when my dad told him exactly what happened.
He took it well (considering). All he really asked is if she said "goodbye." My aunt explained that she couldn't talk, but that she was sure that she would have if she could have.
They were married in 1942. Darn! I miscounted: 62 years He was not eligible for the draft (I don't know why), but he worked at the General Motors plant in Ewing, NJ (suburb of Trenton), installing the radios in the Avenger bomber.

I know how you feel, my grandfather has just been diagnosed with cancer for the third time. The first time he had esphogal cancer which was treated and cured, then he had bladder cancer, that was cured as well. He had a growth on the nose it was not cancer, thank god. But when he went back for his yearly check up they found that the cancer had come back to his bladder. Were just glad that we have some very good cancer centers here in Houston to help.
Keep up hope girl and never lose it. I'm thinking of ya.

Atta83, I'll pray for your grandfather too. I hope that he will be able to be treated and go into remission this time as well.
