In recent years I've found myself transitioning from being a diehard rider (in Disney, at least) to exploring all the details. Maybe it started when I got my first camera in August 2006, but nowadays I find equal thrill with taking photos as experiencing the attractions themselves. :D

This past Nov. me and my family where there for 10 days. For 9 of the 10 we enjoyed the parks and the deatails with just light planing. Like what do you whant to do, and just try to get there at some point during the day. But on are last day are flight was at 630pm or somethin, and me and my bro just had to ride some rides one more time before we left. So we got up early headed over to MK for the opening, rode Peter Pan (and won YOMD ears), then BTMR, Splash, and space all within an hour! very comando style to. If we knew we would of had time we would have gone to ether epcot or DHS and done TT or ToT. So where probly both!

I never feel comfortable going Commando at the parks, I did it once when i went to disneyland and last time i went to disneyland in may (next trip in 2010 i hope) I did not and enjoyed it much more.

For me, it depends on who I'm with. I was down there working for a bit in July, and while I was by myself, I spent lots of time in the parks simply doing nothing- wandering around, enjoying details, taking pictures of everything. My family came out for the last week I was there, and then it turned into craziness!!! My mom is one who pulls out the map, times guide, and highlighter (not kidding!) and gets to work while we're waiting in line or for a show! She had me tell them which things they couldn't miss, and what to skip, and from there she just starts mapping things out! And even though we've been to Disneyland hundreds of time, she still does it there too!! But hey, we always get everything done!

Early on in our Disney obsession, my family was allout commando, getting as much done as possible. Now that we've been there so many times, we take the parks at a slower pace, and take time to smell the roses (especially at Epcot ;) :D)

Bit of both- it depends on who I am with.
At DL, especially with first timers with one day, commando.
At WDW, I've learned to try to balance it a bit. Lunch or dinner is relaxed, but we do get to the attractions.
My wife sent me last year as a sabbatical gift, and I was a detail monger for my entire visit! Still saw my favorites, but I really enjoyed investigating anything or area that caught my eye.

If we're with family members who have not done WDW, then there is a method and plan (ie. commando), but if just my husband and I go, we meander, pay attention to details, and alternate ToT and RnRcoaster over and over.

It varies with me. I tend to take it easier with my family and so we usually do a park one day, then one day off, etc. When we are in the parks we tend to take it easy. There are many must-sees but I am content with not necessarily going on Ellen's Energy Adventure or the Grand Prix cars every time we go. I did a solo trip back in March and I was in the parks just about every day. However, I remember being at the MK at night and I just sat on a bench for about an hour and stared at the castle and listened to the music. It was quite nice.

We used to hit the parks full-out, getting in as many attractions, shows, and restaurants as possible. During our last trip in July, my parents (in their late 60s/early 70s) discovered they can no longer keep up that pace. We've been going to WDW since 1976 and seeing them now walking much more slowly and having to deal with varies aches and pains really made it hit home that they're getting older.

I was surprised by the advantages of taking a slower pace. I noticed things I'd never seen before. We enjoyed the sites in World Showcase (I especially loved the exploring the UK pavillion) and the pathways around Cinderella Castle. We added a couple of days to our next vacation in July 2009 so that we can take our time, but not miss our favorite attractions. :)

We are commando in that we hit the park at opening and stay until closing. The only thing that we really ever plan around is our ADRs. We have always been very relaxed in what we do though. If we are at Space Mountain and the kids want to ride Splash then we go ride Splash. If they want to ride ToT 10 times in a row then that is what we do. It has always worked great for us, we never miss a single thing and still do what we want to do. We stay 9-10 days each trip too though so that helps us not feel rushed.

I tend to start out commando when I first get to the park, rushing around to get as much done as possible. After lunch, I tend to relax and spend most of the afternoon on the TTA or something similar. In the evening, I like to catch another thrill ride or two before catching the fireworks show and heading back to the hotel.

Personally i prefer to wonder around the parks taking in all the sighs, sounds and smells. Epcot is my favorite place to be. I could walk round and round world showcase and never get tired of it. Sometimes i can go into a park and not go on any rides or attractions. Its just the ambiance and magic of being their.

I'll be making the 9 hour flight over in 2 weeks. Cant keep the smile off my face when thinking about it :sohappy:
