The World's Most Magical Celebration - Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary

Probably to prevent the descender on the 5 from being partially hidden behind the overlapping ribbon banner. When it’s encircled, it hits really close to the bottom edge, whereas the oval allows them to nudge it up without leaving a lot of negative space trapped to the left and right of the number.
Say that in English, please?

Because BB-8 and Groot have so much to do with the first 50 years of WDW… how?
What automatically makes something that happened in the first 2 years of the park's existence more important than something that happened in the last 2? I don't particularly like Marvel and Star Wars, but they were major acquisitions and are now (or are soon going to be) major additions to Walt Disney World.

The refurbished Main Street clock is... certainly a decision. Can't say I'm the biggest fan of it.

As for the train station sign, hopefully there's some big final touches to be installed. As it stands, the random "Let the Memories Begin" marketing campaign arguably had a larger, nicer, more elaborate sign.

So....

Who here will actually BE in the Magic Kingdom on 'the day'?
I'll be there, @JohnD will be there....who else?

I ask because I'd like to do another fun 'meet up' somewhere in the Park to give away some more of my art postcards in honor of the 50th.
I did this a couple of years ago over at the Magic Garden at Epcot on October 1st and it was nice to spend some time with fellow fans for a little while.

So don't be shy....let yourself be known!
Will YOU be enduring the masses this October 1st?

and who said it was "only" the "first" 50th?

Anyway both are related to mega franchises that have been almost as long as WDW.
Representing MARVEL and STARWARS. Both mega franchises on its own. A world as big as Disney in terms of characters and stories.

I’ll be there, but I’m nervous about going. Maybe if it gets too crazy to bear, I can hang out in the treehouse or Tom Sawyer’s Island.

So are they celebrating WDW’s 50th or 50 years worth of stuff that Iger bought?

Acquisitions <> 50 years of WDW. But this isn’t about WDW, it’s about what the marketing department can synergize.

Whether or not marketing synergies are possible, Galaxy's Edge and Cosmic Rewind are part of Walt Disney World. There's no reason for characters related to those properties not to show up as part of this collection. Just seems an odd thing to fixate on.

I mean, Cosmic Rewind isn't a part of WDW yet...
