The World's Most Magical Celebration - Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary

There is no vaccine for children and is unlikely to be until Christmas. They will certainly not be hosting adults-only fireworks. This isn’t Vegas and they killed Pleasure Island.

I guess 2022 it is then for nighttime shows lol. Down deep we all knew this was likely going to be the case.

Would be a lot easier for many if Disney just made the call now and announce entertainment returning in, let’s say, Spring 2022. By then surely everyone will be vaccinated. Unless something major goes wrong...
Unfortunately it’s exactly for that reason of “If something major goes wrong” why Disney likely won’t say peep. lol

You can both understand why the following was the first choice for the final name of the celebration and also the one marketing vetoed: “The World’s Marginally-Magical Celebration”.

They do protect the wearer if they are the right type of mask (preferably N95) and they have a good tight fit.
Correct. But the vast majority of guests - and general public - either wouldn’t know what a N95 is or wear it correctly.

HEA 50th Tag you mean. Hopefully that's still planned. I'm guessing MNSSHP and UOR's HHN are in Jeopardy right now? Another Halloween with CineCele? I'm fine with that!!!

Regarding Vacc., Wasn't it Biden's plan to make Vacc. available to every adult by May 1st? Did he say anything about kids? Or is that plan still coming?
HHN is a go, Universal ready announced it along with the first house, the ghost with the most, Beatlejuice.

I mean, they still have plenty of time to make a decision regarding Halloween, and the 50th celebration in general. While things are projected to be in a much better place in the US by midsummer, there are still many unknowns that need to be looked out for. Will there be more variants that the current vaccines don't work against? Will the booster shots that both Phizer and Moderna are already working on for the variants that overpower the vaccines be ready by then? Will enough of the population choose to get vaccinated for any of this to mean anything?

All of these questions can completely derail any plans currently being made for Fall Time. However, we should have a better idea of how this will progress by early to mid summer.

Also, I wouldn't base any of what Universal is doing as the golden standard. Everyone I know who's still down in Orlando has told me the same thing, they're avoiding Universal at all costs, and anyone choosing to go there. They feel that Universal is really pushing the limits of what's safe during covid, and a lot of people don't feel safe there.

They decidedly do not have plenty of time to determine what they want to do by fall. They have about a month to make a final call on MNSSHP and perhaps 2 months for the 50th.

MNSSHP and MVMCP sounds more promising to me than nightly fireworks. They could greatly reduce capacity for party nights enough to where they space out guests around the hub and MS, using tape to create boxed areas for guests to stand in around the hub. Not to long ago I saw a picture somewhere of taped off boxes areas along Mediterranean Harbor at Tokyo Disneyland.
Boo To You and Once Upon A Christmastime might not work with boxed areas along the route. Well it could work but it wouldn’t hold very many guests.
Where there’s a will there’s a way I guess.

For argument's sake let's say it is true. This statement alone has given Disney all the reason they need to start cutting.

No fireworks? Guests are happier without them. Boom, gone.
Big fancy parades that only run twice a day for small rinky **** cavalcades. Guests are happier without them. Boom, gone.
Parks closing at 7 pm and no need to pay staff for longer days. Guests are happier without them. Boom, gone.
Some of the less popular attractions closed due to staff budget cuts. Guests are happier without them. Boom, gone.
Big broadway style theatre shows that require show techs and highly talented actors. Guests are happier without them. Boom, gone.

You guys seeing a trend here? If we are actually happier with less, what is to stop them from making all of these cuts and further devaluing the price of admission which is only going to go up again soon anyway? Pandora's box of Cheap-ek has been opened. Strap in because people are still going to go. If they are willing to risk their lives for half the experience like they are right now then they are for sure going to go when things go back to "normal" and still be satisfied with half the experience.

Yep.

Exactly what i was thinking reading the article.

kinda WISH there was a fireworks option that everyone in the park could see/hear (and those at the other nearby resorts) that didn't require everyone to congregate in one area, the hub. Hopefully WISHES do come true. One way to turn lemons into lemonade.
