Thank you!To nip it in the bud, it's nothing to do with the Universal contract.

Shoot. Thank you!To nip it in the bud, it's nothing to do with the Universal contract.
Before yet another rumour starts.
As far as I know it's Budgeted for and on the table. Of course I won't believe it either until something actually happens in the park.@marni1971 - thank for all of the info you have been able to provide. Can I ask, at the moment, how certain is this phase III project? Has it been green-lit? Has money been attached? Hate to get excited if it will just come off the table in a month or two...
My money is still on IJ but an Incredibles ride in the same fashion of Spiderman would be...well....incredible =)
That would mean they probably would come out with a remake of the film, which wouldn't surprise me really. BUT a Wizard of Oz attraction in the parks... now that is a new one for me. I like that idea if they can execute it well- It could possibly be one of the best dark rides ever.Well, I don't think it's IJ. That just seems too obvious and Martin is making it sound like something coming out of left field. My out of the box guess is Wizard of Oz.
1. WB (who owns the rights the 1939 film), has worked with using their IP with major theme park companies before (HP in Uni), so it's not out of the question. (Most of the other Oz stories are in the public domain)
2. Oz appears in the GMR (although it the rights were still owned by MGM back when the ride opened.
3. Would fit into what Martin describes: Huge IP, potential for a big E-ticket that also isn't a thrill ride, and fits into the new "ride the movies" theme they are seemingly going for.
4. Big enough to validate the secrecy behind it, and would make for quite the drop-the-mic reveal.
Almost certainly wishful thinking though
Plenty of Synergy. And an E but not thrill.
How's that?
And that doesn't fit with Martin's statement "I can't say anything more due to the nature of the project." This really makes is sound like either a Marvel character that Disney doesn't have the rights to at the moment, or an outside IP. Are there any other IP's that Disney has a connection to, that would be totally their to use?
It keeps popping up so someone still likes it. If it or a version of it gets built I don't know. It's been around a decade now.
Curious about this too. Those concepts looked amazing!Does Indiana Jones and the Lost Expedition ever keep popping up or is the idea dead and buried?

Wouldn't be that out of left field...the concepts exists
Unless they have plans to get rid of probably the "headline" scene in GMR(WIzard of Oz), it seems odd to have an "E" attraction based on the Wizard of Oz, on top of what is already in GMR. Not to mention that the already decades old scenes in GMR would look ever worse when compared to a new Oz attraction.Well, I don't think it's IJ. Well, Martin didn't say the project would be "out of left field", just that he can't say more until it becomes public and then we'll "understand". Most of us are jumping to the logical conclusion that it is because a deal is being worked out with some outside group regarding the IP.
Maybe this new ride will just replace GMR.... there, solved that problem!Unless they have plans to get rid of probably the "headline" scene in GMR(WIzard of Oz), it seems odd to have an "E" attraction based on the Wizard of Oz, on top of what is already in GMR.
