The Talk, News, Rumors, About Phase 3

The whole Toy Story Land being just thrown in there without regard to a proper land or transition was bugging me, so I took the liberty of laying out Phase 3 and 4 - and providing a few transition pieces that Disney seems to be lacking. Solution: make Toy Story a mini land in a larger "Animation Courtyard" land, similar to how Dumbo is really its own mini land in Fantasyland.

This will probably never happen, but one can dream...I'm sure Disney would at least approve of that.

What I would give for a full on Steamboat Willie/Fantasia/general "classic Mickey and friends" land.

I assume $200 million of that will go to building a portal into the Monster world so the Imagineers can research Monsters in their natural habitat.
Yep and the other $100M will go towards elaborate rock work that the hose will hook into. The actual hose is on sale for $9.99 at the local Wal Mart;)

Super Hero Land? And is the Indiana Jones Stunt Show still on the chopping block?

What, no Muppets?

Muppets isn't going anywhere. It's unlikely that we'll get more Muppets (at least not a ride anyway).

That's good. Because that's the last thing this park needs. More Muppets. However I think after they are done re-theming the new restaurant, (which will probably be Muppets) I think they'll be done. (with Muppets that is.)

There's been talks of a new MuppetVision movie, but who knows where that stands? I could see a movie switch, but even that might not be a reality. So much of DHS needs to be updated and changed. Animation Courtyard will stick out like a sore thumb if they just leave it as is, it would open up a lot of room.

I highly doubt Indy is staying long-term. For now it seems they realize they need it now that Star Wars is going to the LMA area. Martin, I believe and someone will correct me if I'm wrong, said it was recently given a temporary stay of execution, for what that was worth. That could mean for six months, this year, next year ... they don't seem to have a solid game plan.

What do you have against Muppets?
Oh wait, never mind...

I'm beginning to think more and more that Star Tours will be entirely re-purposed on both coasts. I enjoy the current attraction, but the two new Star Wars based rides need to blow it out of the water from a quality stand point. The reason to keep it is that it does satisfy the "best of" approach, but I don't think it's imperative that they keep it as part of Star Wars Land.

Plus, it is an easy way to incorporate the new SW films coming out every year. It may be harder to integrate the new movies into the 2 new E-tickets.

I will really be heartbroken if they remove it and replace it with something like the NEMO ride that StormRider is getting replaced by at Tokyo DisneySea.

Yeah, things seem to change regularly and that's not a good thing. It would be ideal if they mapped out a solid master plan for a large scale DHS redevelopment-- and sticked to it! Not doing stuff piecemeal.

That said, I would imagine that the Indy stunt show is sticking around until at least TSL opens, for park attraction capacity if nothing else.
