Speaking of Eisner, anyone remember when a whole bunch of DL fans booed him at the 50th anniversary celebration? That was embarrassing.

No, but i do recall a news story back in the late 80s/early 90s of Eisner and friends being pelted with eggs in front of the worlds press during a pre-build announcement related to EuroDisney over in Paris.
It was a bit of a surprise to say the least, seeing that footage on my nightly newscast.

Back then Michael was perceived by the public as somewhat of a endearing personality, or at least a positive face for the Disney Organization.
Remember how he used to introduce promotional films..and the weekly Disney tv series, back then?
It was similar to how Walt used to *intro* a show on tv...bumpers before and maybe after the episode airing.
So even non-Disney fans knew who he was to some extent.
Seeing him not getting any love from the folks overseas had some shock value at that time, so probably likely why the footage was on the nightly news to begin with.

I still remember it after all these years, but cannot recall what the publicity event was that this had happened to him.
Contract signing to build complete?
Pre-build reveal/announcement?
Groundbreaking Ceremony..?
Construction progress update..?

I recall him and several suits standing behind a large EuroDisney white sign, with a mic stand.
Mr. Eisner makes some announcement, and those present (press mostly, i am guessing..) suddenly start throwing eggs and other things at him and others on the platform.
The front of his suit was completely covered in eggshells...and other goo.
A low point for sure....i feel embarrassed just talking about it.

Wonder if that clip ever made it to the YouTube universe...
I can understand it being hard to find.
Not a moment one involved with the project would want to re-live.

My point being... Disney being 'fat friendly' was a function of behavior and policy... long before it was because they built the park out for ECV demolition derbies.

And I can add... it's the exact same with the disabled/austic/etc. Disney's "success" at catering to these audiences lead to such strong numbers and growth of that audience that they had to start creating specific programs just to accommodate the huge growth of that audience.

Disney's tolerance and inclusion policies predate GAC/DAS/double-wide ECVs/etc

The Guardians of the Galaxy trailer came out today and I must say I'm really excited to see that movie. It should be a breath of fresh air not knowing these characters
It looks to me like Whedon finally has something he can do with all those old Firefly script ideas he has laying around. I thought the trailer was great, hopefully the movie lives up to it.

Return of the Sith would be cool considering they'd be returning to some sort of prominence now that they are struggling. Apparently in the books the Jedis and Sith almost roll reverse in the future in terms of galactic power.

Just to clarify my response. I responded in regards to obesity and how it affects business at WDW. I did not group all obese people together. I am speaking on personal experiences so I feel I have the right to make those comments. Not once did I call names. WHen I made the comment about the obese guest asking for a "front of the line" pass in an ECV with chocolate on their mouth? That is true. The guest even admitted that if they didn't eat so much they would not have to get an ECV everytime they come to the park. THEY said that. That is not me trying to pull a punch. I am sharing my experiences supporting a comment that someone else said. If that makesme a bad person...then I am a bad person. I just think that Goofy has a personal connection (whatever it is I do not care) and took personal offense to it. I am not going to apologize because I gave a different point of view. If anyone called anyone names it would be Goofy. Still waiting for the quote where I called obese people "evil."
The only thing I started out taking exception to was making jokes about "morbidly obese" people like they are just objects to be treated like dirt and laughed at. You, sir are the one that felt compelled to point out situations that have involved obese people and attempted to justify making jokes about them. So yes, I do have a personal connection like I would if someone was making jokes at the expense of people with CP, MS or some other deforming disease.

You never did directly say that they were evil but to so avidly point out the awful way they act and make your life miserable, goes a long way to saying the same thing. Evil was the feeling that I had that you were projecting. You have no need to apologize to me, I'm not easily bothered by the opinions of others, but when I feel that people are being judged unfairly, then I do get vocal. Oh, and nice effort to make me the bad guy in this because I am defending people against physical prejudice.

You can't compare someone with an addiction to someone with MS or CP. Sorry....

I don't see how...

That would be quite a surprise.
Nothing I know or have heard/seen would lead me to believe that.
You should see what they're saying in the Mine Train Expectations thread (if you haven't already seen it). They're saying that the extremely impressive Ursula AA "has nothing" on these animatronics.

How did I make a joke about them? Now you say I didn't directly say they were evil but earlier you did say that I said obese people were evil. The people I spoke of were not judged unfairly. They admitted to taking advantage of the system due to their weight. THEY ADMITTED TO IT!

I think you have some deeper issues or something because you are making accusations that simply are not true. Unless you are one of those people who try to take advantage and do not like it because you are being called out? Projecting "evil" feelings to you? You seem pretty bothered not by my opinions but by my FACTS that I experienced. Because you did not like the FACTS that I stated does not mean they did not happen nor are they valid. They did happen. The guests admitted to bucking the system. The company does have to spend extra money because of them.

One last thing...how dare you compare the lazy people who take advantage of the company to people with CP or MS! You should be ashamed of yourself. Moving on...

I have said it once and I will say it again, the animatronics used on this ride are well worth the wait and construction time.

I did not seem a lot of them in motion due to us working as they were installing them, but of the ones I did see in motion Ursela has nothing on them.

He's claiming to have worked on the construction of the inside of the ride.

If the ride system is a coaster then it should travel faster than a typical omni mover correct? Why would they use T-1000 animatronics in scenes that you will only see for a few seconds? (You could say the same for Everest...if it were working) Besides, what more would you want to see Doc do more so than Ursula?

The "scenes" are equivalent to Mummy at Uni. It starts as a dark ride and then the coaster part. There are suppose to be 2 scenes in the dwarf coaster.
